Grace is messing things up, at least not in a bad way...
She's very trusting by nature, she wants to see the best in people, including Ricky. So when he's making fun of her, she tends to not really notice. And if they does and asks, he just lies and she believes him.

Grace is a trusting person, like myself. I can see where she's gone wrong, most of the ways I have. Trusting the wrong people. I think that Ricky can change though. No one is unredeemable.

Rick will change. There's a reason for they way he is, and it's his dad. I saw a show once on tv about an adult female who was kind of going through the same thing.
Her dad did that to her, and felt like in order to be loved she had to go around having sex with people.
It was strange, like she walked into a room and the guy was mad at her. They had an argument and then she starts taking off her clothes thinking that sex will fix it.
The guy got mad and ran out.
