Michele I am so happy for you guys on the new place.. Can't believe your dd is that old already and super awsome about WWS @ DW... HS hockey is a lot rougher than MS hockey. Anthony played it this spring but I'm not worried he is the littlest on his team and everyone was fearing him from the other teams. He rocked a senior during a tournament and somehow got a rep.

So I am posting to get my 3500 post and share it with my Limey friends..

It is so hot today. We set a record. Not one that I am proud of.

The subway had a break down and I was stuck for half an hour, then an Amtrak train broke down and we have to go slow around it so my 1 hour and 45 minute public transportation commute is now going on 2 and a half hours and I am only half way home.

Ugh! I mised this last night...sorry about the crappy commute, but congrats on 3500

Brandi: Congrats on the 3500+ posts. It will take me a lifetime I think to reach that! Hearing your subway issues just brings back the memories when I commuted to NYC for 3 years ... many a time we were delayed in hot, airless trains ... one time it was so bad I almost fainted. Not fun.

Have fun with your Mom, Janet! We had a tiring day shopping...it was so hot out, and then they had the air on so cold it the stores, the going from hot to cold took a toll on us. BUT, we found a bathing suit for Martina AND shorts that aren't booty shorts on her. And i got a top to wear to my Martina concert. Just need some jeans now.

Good Morning long lost friends - I really need to get a home computer so I can hop on more often! Sounds like everyone is enjoying their summer so far even if it's hot. I don't know if I said before but I had to cancel our summer Disney trip so we can move into our own house -- while we have not yet it should be this month! I am soo excited to get away from my sister's dramatic life!!!! my DD got some great news about a month ago she was invited to softball spring training next April at Disney Wide World of Sports by the varsity SB coach! she was on cloud nine - and well of course I am too - happy for her but happy for me as that means I get to go to my fave place to watch my DD play her fave sport! and we are also saving for a 10 Night trip 6/27 - 7/7 -2012 .. our last family vacation before DD goes off to -- GULP -- college!!! EEKs I have a Senior and Freshman -- oh lordy where does the time go right.. all is well with the Hubs and I we are just working .. DS is playing HS summer hockey - boy is that rougher then MS.. I don't know how I'll make it thru the season! but he has filled out and grown taller (5'8" now ) and knows how to throw or avoid the checks but still as his mom I find it hard to sit still and watch him get hit.. LOL Well there now ya know what is going on with me and i'll try to stay in touch more often.. Everyone who has trips planned ENJOY!! xo Michelle

Way to go, Anthony!!! Chris gets quite a reaction in baseball too...people that haven't seen him play think he's just some little kid. Then he gets out there and starts pitching, and people are suprised he has that much power. His team last year called him their "secret weapon" This year, everyone knew him better, so he didn't suprise as many people. The Travel team wanted him to try out though, for that very reason. I wish we had the time and money to let him do it. Hopefully next year....

It is a beautiful day today here in DC..... The weather is wonderful, high today 86 and lots of sunshine. Slight breeze!

I am going to take off work early today and go be a tourist, we are going to see the National Crime and Punishment museum!

Happy Friday! Sounds like a great day! It is beautiful here too...I sat outside and read early this morning for a couple hours before work. It was a nice way to start the day...perfect weather! I had started some yucky and went to hang a couple things out there and decided that sunshine and a good book was just what the Dr. ordered.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I extended mine by one night and came back early monday morning ... what I don't do for one more night relaxing on a beach ...sigh. Waking up DD at 5:00 am was not fun though.

Janet. Back years ago i thought train rides were cool and a subway rides were this dangerous adventure. Well after years of commuting this way, it is just a thang. I mean day aftet day of rude people who are *****ing about everything, to the family of tourist who don't know what they are doing, to the out of country guest who have different hygiene preferences. All in a days commute in D.C.

Janet, we rode the Hippogriff ride, and Dragon Challenge, the Forbidden Journey was DOWN for technical difficulties (as was Mummy), so we didn't get to do that. But I was very impressed with how very themed the Harry Potter world is, and actually all of the park is so in theme with its area, it is pretty cool. Disney is still and always my first love though.

YIKES!! This will freak me out if that happens when we are there! Glad you like WWOHP as a whole though ...

BTW, we did the Harry Potter premiere thing as well. We got there around 10:30 pm and passed the time away with talking and playing Potter Trivia with the 20 year olds behind us. We got a treat ... paid for a regular movie and got the 3D version instead! Seems like they made a mistake and set up the theater for 3D. I was kind of surprised that Watertown had it playing on 9 screens (out of 12) ... didn't think there would be that many tourists in the area to support it, but apparently there was!! Hope you were okay with the 3D.

They just announced that we are reaching 117 to 120 in heat index today!

We are going to go see Wicked this evening at the Kennedy Center, where it will be nice and cool.
