Secret Green Club - whatever number thread

nope....i'm sitting my lazy butt on the couch watching TV. this is my last day of peace before summer hits here.

Hi everyone, we're home, and I am back at work! Wow, lots of work this morning, I came in to 415 emails in my inbox. We also went to Coral Reef for lunch, on Wednesday, but we also called in dinner, as it was at 3pm. Catie had the lobster ravioli, Rick had the salmon, Meag had kids cheese pizza, and I had the mahi mahi. Rick said the salmon was good, Catie thought the ravioli was just so-so, but the mahi mahi was delicious! That was our most expensive meal of the trip, but was very good, so well worth trying. We had a great time at Kouzzina for breakfast and Kona for supper with T and her kids as well as my sister, and also went to Crystal Palace on Friday for lunch with the characters, as Catie told me she really wanted a character meal (told me Thursday night, of course!), this was the only one available. This week we are sorting and tossing all the junk we have in the house so we can minimize the stuff for Florida, I fly to Tampa on Sunday night for a week of training, and then will have 1 week left before I leave for "good"...have to report on 6/27 in Tampa...

Kristi that time is gonna fly by so quick!!! Good Luck with everything. I know how stressed you will be.

Where is everybody?:confused3
Are my Peeps actually WORKING today?:scared1:
Sadly, yes, I was working today. And my little obstinate defiant girl is suspended for the next 3 days of school (there are only 3 days left). She fought me, ran away from the principals office, took two of us to carry back into school, and tried to kick me in the stomach while I carried her. Maybe they could suspend me for the next 3 days:faint:

I'm so excited for you. And you made me think of Dave Barry's book about buying a house, where he talks about what you pack first, next, etc. and it's all very organized until, at the end, you actually start packing your garbage just to get done.:rotfl: You're a smart woman to get rid of it now.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: Wow and this is a kindergartner? Congratulations on getting through the year with her, but wow I really feel badly for the kid too. Something is obviously wrong somewhere, and I doubt things are going to get any easier for her, what a sad way to live!

Kristi!!!! Don't forget to breathe!!! LOL.

Seriously....when we packed....we had two boxes...one labeled the 'last box' the other labeled 'REALLY the last box'.

It actually helped us....cause I remembered throwing odds and ends(but necessities) in that last box..... yet all those brown boxes look alike:confused3

Danielle..... I feel bad for that little girl. you are a great teacher though.... you didn't give up on her

Thanks, everyone! Yes, we're a bit stressed out, we have SO much junk; toys that the kids don't even play with, clothes that don't fit anyone, etc. Meagan is freaked out cause I have told her she can't take everything, she is a pack rat, and never wants to get rid of anything, to include McDonald's toys! But she really doesn't play with many of them. I am thinking we will keep the stuffed animals that she keeps on her bed (she LOVES stuffed animals), her I-dog, and the games/ds stuff, and end up getting rid of the rest of the toys in her room for the most part. Catie is easy, she LIKES sorting and getting rid of stuff.

I guess you better have Catie sort for Meag! Umm I'm sure that wouldn't lead to any fighting!:confused3

Can you try taking the route of asking her to donate a lot of the stuff to needy kids? That seems to be about the only thing that will help my kids to get rid of stuff...they may not have played with it for years, but they are such pack-rats, they may need it someday. When I bring up donating things, that seems to work.

Nope, none at all!:thumbsup2

 You are a saint! :worship: How the heck did you make it all year with her? Are the first grade teachers putting in for transfer's now?

Kristi send the girls to your mom's and dump it all. When you get there blame it on the movers!

T, have you been talking to my mother? That's exactly what she said! I am working on getting the dumpster in there by the end of this week, so we can start tossing, I am planning to get rid of LOTS of stuff. I want to be able to get started tossing this weekend, and then finish up when I get back from Tampa next weekend and the week of 6/20... I would totally do the donation route, but that doesn't actually help with Meag.

Hi,
Hope all you lucky ones who were in DW over Memorial Day weekend had a blast!

Thanks, everyone! How about offering an incentive? Something she really, really wants, perhaps been saving up for -- offer to get is for her IF she can donate/get rid of her things for the move. Stress it will be so nice to move into a clean room that she can fill with new stuff :)

Kristi send the girls to your mom's and dump it all. When you get there blame it on the movers!

Otherwise, resort to plan B above :rotfl2:

Heather: sorry you lost your wedding album  How about a renewal of your wedding vows ... in Disney ... for a new album!! :goodvibes

Heather, Janet's got a great idea there!

Janet, she is amazingly willing to discuss getting rid of "most" of the stuff in her closet (that she hasn't even looked at in over a year). That's HUGE progress.

Well, the dumpster is being delivered on Friday, so we'll be able to dig in and get stuff out soon...Wow, my house might actually manage to look clean for awhile! Not that it is dirty now, just cluttered....
