Finally another weekend. Last week was so bad. BAd Friday at work, worse after words cause Bill's car quit on me. Jeff was in basketball clothes, the temps had dropped about 20 degrees and it was sprinkling. 15 phone calls later, I found a ride. Got the car towed Sat., then found out that the 99 Buick with 92,320 odd miles needed a new engine. WHAT!!!
Still making decisions on that. Any suggestions besides the $2200 - 3200 for a new engine? <sigh> That's just the guessetimate. It could be worse cause it is such a big engine.
At least the lawn was mowed when I got home that day I posted about it. Deck is down, quote for siding is gotten (looks like another paint & scrape weekend coming up to make the city happy). Thankfully it only the front I have to do!
Healthy Kids day is tomorrow at most of the YMCA's. fun free stuff for the kids. For us, it is open pool time, along with all the rest. Go check it out if one is close. You can look online to see if yours has it! Then I am sure I hear a nap calling!!
So much more going on, that I could make it a novel to read! But wanting to wish all a good weekend!
Sorry about the car! I'm not sure what I would do.....what is the blue book value on it? I'm not sure I would carput a new engine in it, if it isn't worth much more than the cost of the engine, unless it is in GREAT shape except for the engine. Maybe look into getting a cheap used car. (I know..if you don't have the $$$ for the engine, how are you going to find the $$$ to buy something else?) I just don't know if it is worth dumping more $$ into a 12 year old car....could become a money pit very fast.
Love the pictures, T. Great job, Nick!
Does it count as Kellyitis if you're awake because you ate way too much? We went out for Mexican food, and I had a mango margarita, then ate way too much chicken fajitas. At 9:00, the hotel set up a fire for us on the beach, drove us down in golf carts, and had supplies for s'mores set up for us (for a price, of course). I had too many of those, too. We played a "newlywed" game and Brian and I tied for first. The other couple beat us in the sudden death round, when Brian and I couldn't agree on how many pairs of shoes I own. I'm going to count when I get home.
Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend!
Sounds like a great weekend!!!

Are we talking SHOES, or Shoes, flip flops and slippers? I don't have a lot of shoes, and have a hard time finding shoes that fit right. I have heel spurs, so my left foot is a half size larger than the right...that explains the flip flops and slippers. Most of what I have are slip ons. I think I have about 7 pairs of SHOES, but tons of flip flops. Even if I COULD find shoes easier, I'd rather travel.
Danielle that is so me. All our money goes to travel!!! That and hockey
Yep....just replace Hockey with Baseball here!
Lately mine has gone to travel and entertainment. But in 40 days hopefully some will go to a new D&B purse.
Oh I forgot the laundry. Lots of
I agree....I have a lot more days, bit I WILL buy the purse this time. I think even if we have to cancel, I will buy sthe purse....this trip was supposed to be my Christmas, Valentine's AND birthday present, and if I don't get to go, I want SOMETHING, dang it!!!
Hi Everyone - Exciting news - I had to cancel my Disney trip but for a GREAT cause !!! We are moving out of my sisters and into our own place June 1st!!!!! I am soo excited.. I had my house forclosed in Dec 2009 and we had moved with my sister and now we will be moving into a trailer park closer to the schools and work - we are going to purchase the trailer outright and just have to the lot rent which will save us $250 a month from what we pay my sister! so not only will be by ourselves but we'll be saving $$ too!!!! oh this month is going to go by soooooooo slow!!! LOL
YAY!!!! Glad you will have a place of your own again. By saving that extra $$ each month, hopefully you can do it in a few more years.
So everyone knows that I want the new D&B purse, but I also want something to carry around the parks and when I am running around that is durable.... So I thought that I could get a canvas messenger style bag, so I could throw it in the wash if need be, but I thought that I could load it up with my pins when I got to Disney!
So I have been hunting for an inexpensive bag, who knew it was not easy... anyway, I ran across this one...

I like that. I am looking for a plain black quilted backpack kinda like the Vera Wang style. I want Bbrian to be able to carry it too, and he wouldn't do a messenger bag. I was thinking the same thing as you....want it to be washable, and to be able to put our pins on there. Now to actually FIND one.
Hope you all have a great week, PEEPS!!!
