secret exit at Magic Kingdom

It's possible, I'm sure such a route exists. That one is not the one more commonly used and cited on Robo's map. I assume it depends on where management wants to route people for crowd flow.

Based on my personal experience, the only time I've seen the Tomorrowland one open is the Fourth of July and during the days surrounding NYE. This one lets out on the very south end of Tomorrowland (well past Buzz). For the NYE and Fourth of July special fireworks, they usually will also offer firework viewing spots from the parking lot that these areas cut through. The route Robo's map illustrates is the one generally used during busier times of the year (not the busiest just the busier) after a major event like Wishes. Sometimes, they'll use the one by CP asve seen this happen on President's Day, Spring Break season/Easter, and Thanksgiving. Sometimes, they'll use the one by CP as well though it's not as commonly used.

Other than that, there's only one entrance/exit to MK. The only secret might bet that you can cut through the Main Street stores to get to the exit of the park but that "secret" is starting to get out.

Am I the only one who thinks its really messed up that they even started this procedure in the first place?? We were forced to leave out through backstage behind Tomorrowland to the main gate near Tony's before the Christmas Party last year, and I felt really cheated. Like the magic was lost in a way. The fact that Disney thought it was a good idea to allow guests to have to go backstage to exit the park is rediculous. No theming, no environment, all the magic is lost IMO.

This is a bump of an extremely old thread but I'll address it. You say you were forced out that way before the Christmas party. The reason for using it before an e-ticket even is because you didn't pay for the party happenings. If you are not a paying party guest they don't care so much about your magic as you could have chosen to leave from Main street before 7pm. If you are still in Tomorrowland close to party start they want you out as quickly as possible and not able to hang around and possibly sneak into an area that has already been cleared of non-party guests.

Oh I get all the logistics with the reasoning... I just still think its wrong. Before ushering in the party guests, get the rest of your guests out of the park through the main exits.

Did the prior post state the time?

They didn't say the time but I've only seen that exit be used for people who are checked when it is reasonable that you won't be able to exit through the main portion before the party begins. They don't even check party bands before 7pm so they wouldn't know who was suppose to be there and who wasn't so it wouldn't make sense to force everyone through that way before 7pm.

They no longer make everyone get out prior to party members coming through. If that did that you would probably have to leave MK at 5 so it could be cleared in time for the 7pm party start. I think there would be more upset guests if MK closed at 5 than there will be upset that they had to walk backstage to exit.

The backstage exit is themed now and is actually quiet nice.

The East by pass, from The Plaza to Tony's, is open fairly frequently. It's themed a bit now, so pleasant to walk through. Didnt know about the one from Tomorrowland!

Yeah this was back in '14 so it may be different now. Thanks!

I loved the map so much, I made it my wallpaper. Only Disney fans would do things like these!

Great to hear that you like the map!

:thanks:

Having to walk through backstage areas as a guest, despite sounding interesting, is not necessarily as exciting as it sounds and is something that WDW management does out of simple necessity as previously explained, it is obviously not the most ideal experience for guests and can possibly "ruin the magic" for some, especially for someone that doesn't frequent WDW very often.. IMHO I would strongly advise against deliberately looking for "secret" or backstage exits as mentioned by the OP, unless CM directs you there or you are someone that visits very frequently and doesn't mind (ex. local AP holder, etc.) then I would stick with using the main guest areas so you can get the full and most magical experience!
