Second Year In A Row - Kidani #1

When we did an add on at AKV we werent sure about how often we'd stay there....well, I'm SO glad we added on there. We LOVE Kidani! It is now my favorite resort. It is the most relaxing place to stay. I could just sit on my balcony for hours and watch the animals on the savannah. Also, Sanaa has become one of our favorite restaurants. :thumbsup2

for me Kidani pros are:
it is more quiet
great pools
first bus pick up

cons for me:
no QS
it can be a long walk to your room

I think both have amazing lobbies....

We love AKL - jambo. We don't generally eat at the CS places (we'd rather eat in our room or go to a park/pool) but love Boma! Also, the Concierge Level is the bomb and we've stayed there twice. We recently stayed at Boardwalk ( love the location, but the resort wasn't quite up to AKL) and Bay Lake (loved seeing the fireworks, but too stark/busy etc. for us) but will be back at AKL the next time. So much more peaceful than the others as a respite from the parks. And the various tours you can get - awesome!

If you haven't stayed - you need to!

My Boyfriend's Uncle absolutely LOVED AKLV - Kidani Village when he went with his family last year! He gets that it's DVC which is basically an add-on to AKL like BLT to Contemporary Resort, it's not meant to be a seperate hotel. He also says he understands why there isn't any QS because people have their own kitchens to cook, it's meant to be 'home away from home' but he also realises it's not easy to find meal type food unless you have a car & so can drive off site (like he did) to a supermarket. But he didn't actually get why 'Sanaa' was there, it's the only DVC resort to have it's own restaurant.

He loved how laid-back Kidani was, it didn't feel busy even though it was pretty much fully booked when he went. The pool area is a good size & his younger children loved the children's water area. He did his research before shelling out ALOT of money so he knew what to expect, he thoroughly enjoyed his week long stay & would definitely go again!

There are restaurants at other WDW DVC resorts as well. OKW has Olivia's and SSR has The Turf Club and Artist's Palette. The Big River Grille is located right in front of BWV.

Oh do they? My bad. Well still, not every DVC Resort does - only a few do.
