Second thoughts on Biergarten

DH and I decided that we're trying some new places this year. My girls are not happy that the Biergarten is not in the plan this year. It's one of their favorites!!

DH and I love German food (and he loves German Beer, and I love German Wine), so it really is a shame that we aren't going there this year. However....we actually got a ressie for Le Cellier, which we haven't tried before, so we're doing that and Tepan Edo (which the girls love as well) in Epcot this time.

I think it will shock you how easy it is to find something everyone enjoys.

When we were there, the entertainment did start on the hour and lasted for about 20 minutes. It would be hard to miss the show!

ENJOY!!

Love the Biergarten - my favorite non-stuffy, non-adult, non-classy meal in WDW. I love the interior of the restaurant and would go just for that alone, but the food is also great. I can eat my body weight in Schnitzel, Spatzel, and Black Forest Cake...and Bavarian Cheesecake... and pretzel bread... and... yeah. :)

(For the record, I rarely touch a sausage ever.)

Probably my kids' and DH's favorite meal at Epcot. There is a great variety of food to try, no worries!

Can we get specifics? My daughter only eats mac & cheese, pizza, pb&j, chicken nuggets/strips and no meats like ground beef, steak, lunch meat or sausage.

Found it!

It is our favorite restaurant at Epcot and have it booked again for our September trip. The entertainment is great and the theming is wonderful as well. If you like good "bier", this is the spot for you too.

Suprisingly, Biergarten was one of my favorite restaurants! I don't really care for sausage, but I booked it for my DH, who loves sausage and German beer, since I chose all the other ADRs for things I wanted. The decor and theming is very charming. The German musicians were awesome, and I would go back just for that! I loved the food, especially the potato soup, much to my surprise. The Black Forest cake was delicious also. I think it's a great place for kids, they have a small little "dance floor" where the kids can come down and sit up close to the musicians. All the little ones we saw seemed to be having a great time. The only downside I can see is that you are seated at a table with other people. We had 3 in our party and we were seated at a long table for 8 with 4 other adults who pretty much kept to themselves. I can see how the seating could be a negative factor though, depending on the people who end up at your table.

Go Go Go!!

It isnt all sausages. Plenty to try and very tasty. Get just a little of many things then go back and get what really sets well on your appetite. DW isnt big on German food, but last time really found lots that she enjoyed. Go hungry and enjoy the show!!

Im very excited to try Biergarten next month! I think for the pretzel bread, salads, spaetzel, and the desserts alone would make me very very happy:yay:

Well, I sure am glad I posted this thread. I had no idea it was loved by so many and I have decided to stick with it and try it in September. I won't be canceling my reservation after all of these wonderful things you all had to say about it!!!!

Biergarten, here we come...........

If you are going to the Biergarten, make sure you arrive before your reservation time AND have all of your party with you. They are very strict on that and the age cutoff on the child's menu. My son is 11 years old, can pass for 8 years old, is on medication and can hardly eat anything. Instead of paying full adult fare for dinner, we FINALLY were able to get the Childs Menu price for him. Also, because two family members were 5 minutes late in getting to the reservation check-in, we got bumped lower on the list and we ended up with the worst table in the restaurant. We were to the side of the stage, all the way in the back. This was a polar opposite experience than our first visit to Biergarten in July, 2000. This visit, on June 26, will probably be our last visit there.

After reading all the great reviews I booked a reservation for our last day @ 1:40 on 9/7....I'm really looking forward to this since it will be my last Disney meal for a while....DS is 16 and next summer will probably be spent touring colleges instead of disney.
I'm hoping to do a solo trip in either 2011 or 2012 during the first week of December...have always wanted to see disney decorated for the holidays.

thanks for letting us know. i know what you mean it really stinks when you have such a great time your first time going somewhere and then you go a second time and its a totally different experience - hate that!

We love Biergarten because there is a nice selection of food. My DH wants to stop there everytime we go to WDW. I, however, am not pleased with the sitting arrangement. Several times we have been seated with other adult couples and were able to have some great conversation. However, the last 2 times we have been seated with some unruly kids. It was so bad that the kids were trying to take food off my plate and the parents did nothing to correct them. Another time the kids were yelling and arguing so much that we couldn't wait to leave. So I'm not a fan of paying that much for a dinner only to have it disrupted by kids sitting at my table causing a ruckus. If it happens again, I wonder if you can ask to sit at another table. Anybody ever had this situation?

Biergarten is our favorite restaurant!!! We took our 11 member family and the very picky kids ate a lot. They have a mac and cheese. Children get to dance during the show and at Christmas they are given a surprise. We also love the show. Our kids are still talking about it.

It is the only restaurant that I remember from my family's trip ten years ago if that tells you anything. It was sooooo good. I was a very picky child and I remember liking a lot of the food. I am so glad that we are going there for our upcoming trip popcorn:: Yum!
