Not second summer - September is doing exactly what it’s supposed to here where the Prairies meet the Rockies.Beautiful warm sunny days (18-25C) with nice, cool nights (5-15C). The crops have mostly come in and the leaves are starting to turn so the landscape as far as the eye can see is blazing gold against bright blue sky. It’s a very pretty time of year.
And while we know nothing of second summer, we are very familiar with “first winter”.We will almost certainly get a dump of snow between now and Thanksgiving, which will give way to some more autumn until real winter settles in, anytime after Halloween. We do have four seasons here, three of which are some form of winter.
We leave next week for our first visit to the Atlantic provinces on a Maritime cruise. I am dying with excitement to see the lay of the land and what the autumn landscapes are like there.
@mommasita , does Canada have better ice cream than the USA?Oh my, you are going to love it, at least I hope you do! Have a great trip
Hopefully you stop in PEI, so many things right at the wharf! Make sure to get a Cows ice cream right there.
Sounds beautiful by you, here we did have a few cool nights last week, but now it feels like July , I am not complaining, we know our snow is coming also, but hopefully not that early![]()
Is there bad ice cream? I have to wonder if at one time the butter fat in Canadian Ice Cream was higher than ice cream in the U.S. I just remember in the 1960's my cousins came down and they had never seen skim (non-fat) milk and my Uncle said something about (at that time) there being rules that milk had to have some butter fat in it. Don't remember if he said they didn't have non-fat milk the, or if it just wasn't popular.@mommasita , does Canada have better ice cream than the USA?

Ben and Jerry's would probably disagree.I’ve no clue, I’ve never compared. I just know that Cow’s is the best !
For the record, I've never tasted Cow's ice cream. It is on my bucket list if I ever visit PEI. Ben and Jerry's is similar. They are both ice cream brands, so how are they different? Not even the same thing, https://cows.ca/
Just an FYI, if you wanted to try Ben and Jerry's ice cream, it's available in Canada. Not even the same thing, https://cows.ca/

And Cow's is still better? Häagen-Dazs as well? I'm not trying to pick on Canadian ice cream. I'm just genuinely curious. We can't get Cow's ice cream here.I’ve tried it
Those look amazing!! - I really want to try the chocolate orange! Not even the same thing, https://cows.ca/
Yes, we used to call it that as well. They used to call it Indian Summer here in MA and we are full into it now. It's been 80's and a bit humid here for the past week and is supposed to stay close to that next week. Really mad I had to close the pool last week because I had a small procedure done on my shoulder and can't swim or lift anything heavy with it for a couple weeks. Now m sitting out on the deck staring at the pool cover in swimming weather.
What a bummer, Steve. Well, spring is just around the corner and you will be prepping that pool for opening. They used to call it Indian Summer here in MA and we are full into it now.
