Second Jobs?

I was just wondering how many people get second jobs to save for their trips. I was considering getting one because it would be easier to save and still have money to spend. Thanks for the info!

Not me, simply because I'm a single mom and for me there aren't enough hours in the day as it is!

I do some online surveys that gives me a few dollars here & there and all of our spare change goes into the Disney jar. I've budgeted money for the trip and ds' bdy present from my parents will be his park hopper pass. I really lucked out in that someone here posted late last week that the AAA rate dropped on my hotel- I was able to get the rate adjusted and saved $100!

Before you get a second job, be sure to look at the tax implications of doing so- will the extra income move you to another tax bracket and have you paying more taxes at the end of the year/ If so, selling stuff on ebay or having a massive yardsale (and re-thinking your everyday budget) might be a better option for you to come up with the extra money. Just a thought!

I do daycare so I can stay home with my kids and my husbands company has a contract with a local company that makes hospital beds. They have to put together some cylinder assemblies, well he worked it out so I can do it at home. I actually make more money doing that than daycare and they keep adding more pieces so I may not be doing daycare much longer. All the money I do earn from that goes into a vacation and retirement fund. I get to do the assembling after the kids are in bed and I don't have to leave the house as he brings all the parts to me. It's a win/win for us and his employer since they would have to hire someone to do it inhouse otherwise.
