Just wached Second Hand Lions again on DVD. I had forgotten what an incredible movie this is. It has everything. Adventure, humor, wisdom, drama. This movie is just wondeful. I still cant beleive it didn't do better at the theaters. One of my favorite parts is when Hub gives Walt part of his "What every boy need to know to become a man" speech:

“Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good. That honor virtue and courage mean everything; that money and power mean nothing. That good always triumphs over evil. That true love never dies. Doesn’t matter if they’re true or not. A man should believe in those things anyway. Because they are the things worth believing.”

I LOVE that movie. It is great. A real tear jerker towards the end. :goodvibes

That good huh. We'll have to check it out.

I was turned off by how badly it did.

Oh, no....it's a really good movie. Rent it....it will make you laugh and cry! The airplane.... :rotfl2:

Great movie. We see most of our movies here at home and when I first saw Secondhand Lions I was completely enchanted. The casting was perfect. We rewatch it all the time. :flower:  :flower:

We watched it one night when there was nothing good on regular TV and it was one of the On-Demand movies. I wasn't expecting much because it hadn't done well in the theaters. We were all surprised how much we liked it!!

That is our families FAVORITE movie. We watch it at least a month on our at-home movie night. I was thinking about an hour ago that it was about time to see it again.
What I really like about that movie is we can all watch together. Little language and violence - but, let's face it - Those boys needed to get their buttocks beaten. ;)

DD & I have watched this more times that I care to admit! Our digital cable includes WAM! and when they show it you can catch it a couple times a week. ;) It's one of our favorites! :teeth: And "charming" certainly does describe it well!

I completely missed it when it was in the theaters - but then we usually wait to see things on DVD. I don't understand, though, why it didn't do better - Haley Joel Osment has proven over & over that he can act! ::yes::

We saw it in the theater even though it didn't get good reviews and we loved it! It is a movie that we have watched quite often at home. :flower:

I still have not seen that movie. I better put it on my list.

I've yet to talk to anyone who didn't like the movie. It's been a while since I've seen it. Maybe it's time I watch it again.

One of the best family movies I've ever seen. Excellent!!!! One of the few movies I've ever given a 5 star rating on Netflix!

Yeah, it really is that good in my opinion. The neat thing about it is that everyone can take away something different from it. Its a story about growing up, growing old, living well and dreaming your dreams. Its about princes and shieks, lions and old dogs. Exciting adventure in far away places, and tending the corn in the back yard.

Its really hard to describe, but I highly recommend it.

Thats one of my sons favorite movies. Its a great movie!
