Second Guessing, Replanning..changing reservations..UUGGH

I have reservations at Tropical Palms for 12 nights in April. I am very happy with everything I read/hear about the resort, though Im second guessing my reservations. I am thinking about the lack of interior cooridors, being in a free standing cabin etc.. I know that I can request housekeeping if I want it, but that seems like a pain...We do make our beds daily, and clean up after ourselves, but I feel as though I would like daily maid service without asking etc..

So I do some searches on here, and some hotel sites, and I come across Days Suites Old Town, also known as Days Suites Maingate East (5820 W Irlo Bronson) same location basically as TP...has daily maid service, has more than 1 TV...so the kids can watch TV at night in the bedroom, while going to bed, and DH and I can be in the living room area. Does not have a stove, but I wasnt planning on cooking anything (LOL)


The price is a factor- Tropical Palms is 87.69 per night (includes tax) total of 1052.28 I've called Tropical Palms, the lowest rate I can get is 79.00 I asked about magic card, AAA etc.. and 79.00 is the lowest for a 2 bedroom Days Suites is 55.44 (tax incld.) total of 665.28 The difference, 387.00 would pay for both DD's park hoppers!!!! Thats a chunk of change!

I've found on this board that some of the reviews confused this days suites with another....I've read and read and read, and the comments that were specifically for this hotel, have all been good, now mind you I'm not looking for the Ritz, and know that I'm not getting it. I expect a clean, safe room to lay my head at night. Days Suites does get 4 out of 5 sunbursts...thats not shabby. It also includes 3 double beds, which means DD's are in seperate beds, less giggling, kicking, fighting etc... if you know what I mean.

Has anyone stated at this days suites recently? The address is above, for clarification...I appreciate any comments you have regarding this.

I haven't stayed there but I enjoyed your post and can understand your second guessing your plans. We all want the best deal for our money and want our vacations spent pleasantly. I honestly have to fight the urge to change plans frequently but I will change plans after carefully looking at options.
I like to look at comments on this website (click here) and as you can see, the reviews are all over the place.
I feel like a broken record saying this, but would you consider using priceline? You can research it carefully at Bidding for travel ask any questions prior to your bid and you could bid for and win a 3* or 4* or even a resort * for what you are paying. Priceline isn't for everyone but once you are successful and understand the way to use it, you will be hooked.
I have seen the tropical palms website before and if I had to choose between it and the days inn mentioned, I would stay at TP. No, really I would use priceline and bid on a resort wdw zone.

I like Tropical Palms and have stayed there many times. The Days Suites is about a 1/4 mile from TP and is along route 192.

It is hard to know exactly what will drive your decision. If the price differential is determining, then why not go on and book the Days Suites? You obviously won't get interior corridors in a cabin, but I doubt that this is an overriding factor. If you want daily maid service, then the Days Suites is the better place of the two.

I would guess that the price differential will make the decision. If so, book the Days Suites.

well, I now have 2 reservations LOL....I called the hotel directly, and went over everything with them, DH said worst case scenario we end up hating it and find a new hotel while were there....

Price is a big factor, if it was only $50 no biggie, but geez, this is A TON OF $$$ when thinking about using the $$ for park hoppers!

I can't use priceline, as we need a suite.....but I might use them for our hotels going down/back home ...

One thing I've learned from my vacations NEVER stay in one hotel longer than a week, especially if it's a hotel I've never been to before.

Personally, I would do 6/6 nites.
