I am booked solo for the Hoop Dee Doo Review on my upcoming trip and am starting to have second thoughts. As I'm going solo, is it still fun? Is it worth 2 credits or should I just change to something else? If you go to the 5pm show, what time does it get out?

As my family is joining me part way through my trip, we are already booked at most of the signature restaurants, except Cindy's Castle & Narcoossee's.

I think it's a must do for everyone at least once, it is so entertaining! It's a shame that the rest of your family will miss it, as it is always nice to share it with someone. However, if I had to do it solo, I definitely would! Better to have an entertaining show to watch through your dinner than to go elsewhere and have to sit there and twiddle your thumbs in between courses. Go and enjoy! You will have a very enjoyable evening!

I think the show is just under 2 hours. The next show is usually at 7:15.

You should absolutely go! I would totally go by myself! It's one of my favorite places! We don't go every year but every other year! :thumbsup2

Like a pp said, part of the fun is sharing the show with others, and it's a shame your family won't be there with you.:guilty: But if it's a choice between going solo or not going at all, I would definetly go!:thumbsup2 This show is so much fun; even though I know all of their silly jokes, I still laugh every time I'm there.

The show lasts just about 2 hours. I seem to remember looking at the clock on our last trip when we got out and it was just about 7pm. People for the 7:15 show are waiting outside.

Hope you enjoy it.:goodvibes

No. The food is mediocre at best (ribs were too tough to think about last time) and the show is stupid and corny. If I drank a few mugs of the beer or wine, I might enjoy it, but stone cold sober? No.

I'd only go alone if they gave me my own table, since they're kind of small, and I wouldn't want to share the bucket of food with strangers. We go every year, as both we and DD8 enjoy the show!

Without kids no way. I've been twice once when my kids were young and again last year with my grand child. It was as bad as I remembered both food and the show. Kids liked it but I told my husband if we have more grandchildren their parents are taking them!

We love it!!! Our last trip was 6 adults ranging in age from the 30's through the 60's. We all had a blast.
I definitely would go solo, and I do believe it is worth 2 TS credits.
They do not share tables at the HDDR.
The food is not gourmet, but good "down home" cooking. It is fried chicken, ribs, salad, corn bread, baked beans, mashed potatoes and strawberry shortcake. Tax Tip and gratuity are include as are all drinks, including beer, wine and sangria.
The show is high energy, singing, dancing and corny jokes.
Go and have a ball

I did it solo and had a blast. When I checked in, I mentioned that since I was solo I wouldn't mind sitting with a WILLING adult party of 3 (didn't want some sucker stuck with me that didn't expect it) to get a closer table. They checked me in and then I double checked at the podium about 10 mins before seating and they had a group that was more than happy to have another party at their table. I had a blast, as I said, and made some great friends that night that I still talk to today 3 years later!

Don't skip something just because you're a solo traveller, you could end up missing more than a full belly!

So. Not. Worth. It.

Food was not up to what I think of WDW standards. The show was so-so. Save the $$$ or 2TS and go somewhere else.

So much fun! We love the food and the show and go every single year.

there are people on both sides of the fence here.

I have been going to the Hoop since 1977 and we do it every other trip.

Is the show corny? Heck yes and we love it!

Is the food good? You bet it is...the chicken is great! The ribs and beans and salad are in keeping with the theme..The bottomless beer and wine mugs are awesome!

I have gone solo a few times and have managed to join a family at their table or another adventerous single (both sexes) and had a great time!

This isn't a broadway show so loosen up, kick back and enjoy!

I only enjoyed it because my kids loved it and my sister got pulled into the performance. Without them there, I would have probably not liked it much. The food is good though, with the exception of the ribs, they were dry. Chicken and side dishes, corn bread and salad were delicious I thought.

We loved HDDR! I'm sure even being solo, it will still be enjoyable! Have fun!:goodvibes

Last year my mom and I attended the Hoop De Doo Revue. I found the show entertaining ( not award winning - but fun in a corny way ) and the food was good ( again, not brag worthy, but tasteful and plenty of it ). All that said, I'm not sure I would use two credits towards this event, as the value of the credits total exceed what you would pay out of pocket.

As for going it alone, I'd say you'd still have a good time. Be fore warned, they do ask for audience participation at times so if this is not your thing - then I wouldn't go it alone. They do have several small two person tables, but if you decide to go, I'd make sure you request a table to yourself when making the reservation.
