Second guessing departure morning plans

DH and I are staying at Shades of Green in January, and I thought it might be nice to grab breakfast at the Poly on the last morning as a little surprise (we're having in-room breakfasts the rest of the trip). I'm currently booked for an 8:05 AM table at Kona, and our ride to the airport is at 10:10.

I'm considering switching to Ohana simply because I've never been, and because DH showed interest in the location and he LOVES the sort of lower-quality-higher-quantity food I've seen in the myriad reviews I've read (I'm kind of the opposite, BTW). Since I think he'd be delighted, and I would be happy to say that I've been, so if I were to get an 8:00-8:30 table, could we be done by 9:45? Or should I stick with Kona and just not let DH know that Ohana was even a possibility?

I think 9:45 is leaving it too late, since you still have to walk back to SOG and collect your luggage.. Youll want to be walking out the Poly door by 9:30. But if you can snag an earlier ADR ( before 8:30) you should be OK.

Good point re:luggage; I was thinking of last time when our room was right off the Shades lobby but it could very well be much further this time. The day I'm looking at has 7:30 and 7:50 tables available, so one of those might be better, especially since we'll be awake anyway and it won't be a chore to get out by then.

I would definitely switch to Ohana! It's fun and festive, great for those who enjoy large quantities and (in our experience) fast! We've had 7:30am ADRs for Ohana breakfast every time and we've never left the restaurant later than 8:30. (We always schedule it before a 9am MK park opening and hop on the monorail immediately after breakfast.)
