Second contract

But I *also* thought long and hard about what I was going to buy before I bought it. And that was from the very beginning, revisiting periodically.

And now, I leave you to it. Good luck in your process.

Is 150 enough, do you think? Meaning to book at places resale cannot
It's not enough for 1-week in a 1 BR villa at Poly or RIV unless you bank and/or borrow. And, even if you used 3 years worth of points, that wouldn't be enough at Poly for 1 week in 1 BR villa for a few weeks out of the year (it would be enough for RIV for all weeks).

What about 150 points vs 200? 150 just to get the benefits ? I’m not sure 150 is enough and the more points you buy the bigger the incentive. I know it’s all bs but just thinking 🤔
When you factor in the incentives, I think the 200 is the way to go compared to 150+ it gives you more flexibility in future resorts.

Remember when you were seven months into a resort, what’s available is generally the more costly view/location option regardless of room type. That extra 50 points could be the difference in seven months into a resort you want to try

So I could get 150 poly points to get 11 month advantage and then add on with AK points at seven months

That was my first thoughts..with the incentives and the price I’m paying what is another 50 points?

The only thing she couldn’t do would be Christmas or Easter week in a preferred one bedroom, but otherwise she is good to go as long as she is willing to only go every three years as you had pointed out.

No, and yes

Each home resort has its own 11 month advantage you cannot combine points to have 11 month advantage with all your points at Polly or all of your points at Animal Kingdom

You can certainly combine your poly and Animal Kingdom points at the seven month window to book any of the original 14 resorts

If you’re booking Polly at 11 months, you can then create a separate reservation with your Animal Kingdom points and then link them together through member services

I thought I heard they would do three installments. But you wouldn’t be able to use your points until three installments were completed? So that sounds like I would lose out if I wanted to book at Poly 11 months out for December 2026

When they say use, they are referring to traveling.

So, you can book a trip at 11 months for next December since you will have closed before that trip.

Yes, although it looks to me that even 1 week in a resort view 1 BR villa at PIT is 496 points during Christmas and Easter.

Another reason why SSR cheap contract has worked wonders for me. Were planning on going during easter and I sure am glad for all the cheap points being used at vgf during that time

You do not need to book a separate reservation at 7 months to add additional days using non home resort points.

You simply modify and add days still available. I do this regularly.

Such a dilemma! Not looking to travel the whole Christmas week (been there, done that imo not all people crack it up to be) however, I would love to have the option of staying in a one bedroom theme park view in PVB for Dec 30-Jan 1 and then move on to a lower point room. To do this I’d need 11 month booking advantage. Is this doable with 150 points? I wouldn’t do it every year but I want options!!
