It's really showing the classlessness of UT fans. I (FL fan) never, ever want to hear the smack about our fans again!

What a mean spirited post. This speaks more about the characteristics of Florida fans than anything that happens at the University of Tennessee. The reputation of your school is not based on what happens at another university.

It was more about the manner in which he is leaving. Less than two weeks to signing day, trying to get mid-term recruits to not attend class today and transfer to USC and his 0:66 press conference in which he would not allow the media to be present nor would he take any questions. Classless to the end. Bye-bye man-child and good riddance! Such a ****y!

I heard about that....that is a classless move.

As a coach, you SHOULD really care about these kids more than that. The early entry recruits just showed up on campus, had their head coach leave and then are getting told to not attend class and go across country to USC with him.

This all while USC is a mess and likely to get into trouble of it's own with the NCAA next month.

These 2 real do deserve each other and it should should be fun for the rest of the college football world to watch it play out.

good, now Lane Kiffin's raging case of foot-in-mouth disease can be USC's problem. he's always been a whiny jerk, and he couldn't control his players in TN, so it's going to be amusing to watch him try in CA. i can't blame his players and the UT fans for being angry, but posting the cell #'s and home address was taking it too far. i hope the recruits see him for what he is and stay at UT.

many of us have classless moments from time to time. It happens.


Not just him, but I am shaking my head with all the coaching moves and changes that are happening in college football. Most of these boys are still kids when they are being recruited and introduced to the team family. Many also have backgrounds where there is no father figure and are looking to a stable environment as well as someone to look up to. I know now it's about the money for a lot of coaches but I hoped at least on the college level coaches were more about the team and players themselves. Yes, winning is important to their jobs but it's nice to see those stories on ESPN where the coaches are in favor of college education, graduating and just in general caring about these boys who go to bat for them every time they step on the field. I know there are some out there, but I don't think the coaches who up and leave really realize what that does to the kids - I mean, I bet they are preaching loyalty, teamwork, etc and then they turn and walk away?

Um, how are there SEC fans? I understand rooting for the SEC teams in the NC or bowl season in general. But this is rediculous. You are not fans of a conferece! don't you have a team? If anyone claims to be fans of a conference then they aren't a fan of a team. That's the same as having 3-4 favorite teams. You have the team you grew up with and your alma mater if it applies. THAT'S IT.

Oh and classy messages from the Tennessee fans on the wall on campus. Or should I say SEC fans? Then it encompasses everyone.

I am a graduate of USC and a huge fan. I am not happy with this decision and neither are a lot of fellow Trojans. He was not liked when he was an assistant coach at USC before. He will not last at 'SC.
I heard on the Dan Patrick show that Kiffin needed a police escort to get out of town. safely. That is crazy. What is wrong with people. Don't they have a life outside of football? I am a huge football fan, but would never act that way. It all just sounds like a mob mentality to me. I know it is just a few rotten apples, but boy are they making this out to be something bigger than it really should be.

First of all...I am a Tennessee fan, and a Tennessee graduate.

I take GREAT offense at the OP's original post about how classless the fans are. A few crazy college kids do some stupid things last night, and therefore we are all classless fans .

I have never been a Lane Kiffen fan, and only started coming around to somewhat tolerate him when he took the Vols to a bowl game. It isn't that he is going USC that gets me...it is how he did it, and the timing. It is quite obvious now that we were a 'it'll do' school until something better came along, it just came along after 1 season.

He has had so much trouble keeping his trap shut in speaking engagements, and lots of other NCAA issues as well. He just doesn't seem very mature IMO.

The few USC fans/friends that I have are not happy with it, either.

But please don't call all Tennessee or SEC fans classless. You don't know most of us...

I agree!! It would not have matter which college in the US, they would have had the same reaction as everyone as here.
