We are thinking of adding a SeaWorld portion to our next trip because my son is currently obsessed with sharks. My questions are 1) is it worth it? 2) one day or two? 3) if I do one day should I get the "front of the line" pass? 4) any special shark things that my son would love?

1) Yes, it is worth visiting SeaWorld.

2) If you have time, I would set aside 2 days. It would take that much time to see all the shows, ride the rides, and see all the animal exhibits.

If you buy a single-day ticket, you can upgrade that ticket for a second visit (within 7 days) for $15. You just have to inquire about it on the day of your 1st visit before you leave the park for the day.

3) You may not need Quick Queue depending on the time of your visit. If it is not the holiday season (slower season), I would probably wait on purchasing this. If you get to the park when it opens, the wait times for the rides are minimal.

4) Definitely check out Shark Encounter! There is a portion of this exhibit where you ride a moving sidewalk while the sharks are swimming all around you (you're moving through an underwater tunnel). You could also make a priority seating request at Sharks Underwater Grill, the park's only sit-down restaurant. In this restaurant you have a view of the aquarium and see the sharks (and other animals) swimming all around. Your son would probably love that!

Thanks!

We would be going in July because my DH and I are both teachers and it is the easiest time of year for us to get away. Unfortunately that means that Orlando is hot and crowded. But we still love it anyway!! Would you think we would need the Quick Queue then?

There's a great photo op in the Shark building you'll want to be sure not to miss. Before you enter the tunnel, there's a set of shark jaws against the wall behind glass. It was dark and I'd have never noticed it myself, but my kids did -- there's a spot where they can duck behind it and then you can snag a picture of them.
