I just posted this on my Facebook, maybe someone here can help me. We will be there in late August for one day. More interested in shows than rides since we will also be going to Universal and Disney.

To anyone who has been to SeaWorld in Orlando: do you know anything about the preferred seating we've read about, and are any of the "quick-serve" type restaurants worth eating at? (We will need lunch at some point when we're there) Thanks.

Platinum pass members get preferred seating. If u doing one day not cost effective for you. They do check each member in the party has a pass to allow seating there. Seats are best in house. We have plat passes and enjoy the seats. You will find good seats no prob if you later August after school back in session inmost parts of nation. Shows are great.

Seaworld has several nice eating places. Voyagers and Seafire are our favs. If you staying all day considering the all day dining deal.

Thanks for the info. I am thinking of the signature seating option available on the website for $29. Basically, trying to find out what crowds are like toward the end of August to figure out if it's truly needed. For example, they say with the signature seating, show up 15 minutes before showtime. But if you don't have it, how long do you have to wait in line? We want to make the most of our one day without being in lines all day.

We will still be at Disney during our Seaworld day and have a Narcoossee's dinner planned that night and bring our own breakfasts, so it's probably not cost-effective for the meal deal. I will look up menus for the places you mention though, thank you.

Late august after the 22nd will start to slow down since summer nights will be ending. There is no line to get in to seat unless you are there during the holidays and then people show up an hr ealier. If you get there 30 mins before a show you will get good seats. Unless you want splash zone seats at shamu you will be good. And I'm not sure if shamus show offers splash zone seats for preferred seating. So in that case showing up early is good. There will be lines cause I forget how early before the shamu show they open the stadium but they have concession stands so you can grab a nice snack and drink while you wait.

All the restaurants in SW are counter service style. They are all good. Terrace is a buffet style pizza place not a lot of variety. Voyagers, sea fire inn, spice mill and mango joes all offer good choices. I have never found an online menu for the places but if you want an idea let us know pretty much we have memorized the menus. There is one restaurant and the Sharks which is just like Corral Reef just a shark tank. Good food but save that for a nice dinner when you can stay longer.

Thanks again for the info. Aim not interested in splash zone seating, not sure about the rest of my family. As far as restaurants go, I guess a place that has sandwiches and salads etc. would be a good choice. I have reflux issues and can't eat regular pizza with red sauce, fries, fast food burgers. But I can do a grilled chicken sandwich or similar. DH will eat anything and the kids are pretty flexible too.

In that case seafire inn is a good choice. I only ate once at spice mill and can't remember the menu that well I know they do burgers just not sure if they have a chicken sandwiche. Voyagers is all BBQ.

Great, thanks. The verdict is still out as to whether or not we'll do the signature seating. DH wants to make sure we maximize our time there!

The Spice Mill has hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. Voyagers is my favorite and has smoked chicken

As for the seating... For most of the shows you can get good seats but most of the time you have to be there 30 mins or more prior to show time. If you don't want to waste the time waiting then I would go with the signature show seating. Also you might want to look into some of the other options that they have such as VIP packages and such to. Many allow the seats, front of the lines and even some behind the scenes things as well for one rate.
