"" Experience the highlights of SeaWorld the VIP way. This seven-hour guided tour gives you front-of-line access to our most popular rides including Manta, reserved seating at three of our unforgettable shows including the spectacular killer whale show, Believe. Plus, feed dolphins, rays and sea lions and then join us poolside for a buffet lunch hosted by our trainers as you experience Dine with Shamu with our killer whale family ""

Hello, has anyone done the above tour, if so could I have your opinion on whether you think it is worth it?

Many thanks :goodvibes

When are you going? I'm planning to go at the end of April and I promise to post about it then.

Julie

Hi Julie , that would be great thank you :goodvibes

We are going in August, but there are eight of us, so alot of expense if we do the tour ....... but dine with shamu and feeding the dolphins are included .... maybe keep an eye on the exchange rate

We did this VIP tour in 2005 and loved it! Our guide took very good care of us. There were only about 10 people in our group. We fed dolphins, sea lions, sting rays and got to pet a penguin. We had front of the line access to the rides. Lunch was wonderful, fruits, desserts, fancy sandwiches etc all by Shamu's pool. The whales played and swam while we ate. It was definately worth it we would do it agan.

Hello, quick question .... there are eight of us, but two children, aged 12 and 15 .... do you think they would get bored with the length of this tour??? Thanks

I would be curious to know too:).

I have 2 children the same ages.

Our son was 9 when we went and he loved it. There is a lot of animal interaction and the tour guide does a good job of keeping the kids engaged with facts and questions. We plan on doing this tour again in 2010.

I'm hoping to do the VIP tour in April and have a few questions for those who have already done it.
Which shows can you choose from for reserved seating? We love Pets Ahoy and would want to choose that so I hope its not just the water based shows.
Do you have to do Dine with Shamu at lunch? We would prefer dinner as DS is diabetic and needs more food later in the day.
If you want to do more thanone turn on a particular ride is that possible?
TIA!:goodvibes

I had a similar question to Rosie ~ for the FOTL access to rides, how does that work? Does the tour group go as a whole to certain rides, or do you have down time where you can go to the rides on your own?

the shows you have reserved seating for are Blue Horizons, Clyde & Seamore. Believe and Diner With Shamu. I had the diner at 12:30 pm when I did the tour in November. I hope that helps.

Thanks dolphina - the tour sounds great :goodvibes!
I am sure that whatever we need to make the day one to remember will be taken care of if at all possible. I am going to book now and I am so looking forward to that magical day - it will be our first day of our holiday and what a great way to start :cool1:
I know the tour is expensive but it sounds like something that people value above the actual cost which is a rare thing these days.

DH and I did this tour several years ago, and it was great - so much so that we didn't hesitate to book it for our trip this past October (us, our two little ones, and my in-laws). HOWEVER, we came away extremely disappointed this time around, and would consider again only if we were planning on being there on an extremely crowded day. For one, petting the penguin is no longer included. I could have dealt with that, if the rest of the tour had been well-planned, which IMO it was not. We crossed the park (and I mean from one side to the other) at least a dozen times that day - it seemed like there was no "flow", each activity seemed to be in the opposite side of the park than the previous (eg our lunch with Shamu was at 12:30, our guide met us again at 1:30, then took us clear across the park for a ride, then later back to Shamu stadium for the 3 or 3:30 show... wouldn't it have made more sense to go directly to the stadium for the 2:00 show?). On my own, I could have organized it much more sensibly (ie in a logical sequence, finishing one area before moving to the next, rather than walking side to side to side to side etc....). I was exhausted by the end of the day. Very disappointing.

when I went in November I petted a penguin. our group didn't spent much time there as it was pretty cold and we had two babies in our group.

I did this exact tour at the Seaworld in San Antonio. Obviously it was different rides, but the same idea. Petting/feeding dolphins. Feeding the seals etc.

There were tons of little kids on our tour. The youngest being two. It was fun for all ages.
