SeaWorld fights for future of killer-whale shows

Been AP holders a few years now, whenever we were in Orlando we would go watch the Shamu show, more than once some trips but since Dawn Brancheau died we have seen the show once, we have little interest without the trainers being in the pool. Hope they can resume the shows as they were with more safe guards adding.

We feel the same. There was a strange atmosphere and lots of empty seats when we were there this year.

Agreed! we took our friends and family last year for their first visit and they didn't think much of the show. There was definitely a more subdued atmosphere inside the stadium than on our previous visits.

Obviously safety has to come first but the show is poorer without the trainer interaction. With so many other places to visit we will probably give it a miss on our next trip.

I hope they can reach an agreement, so that the trainers can be in the water safely:goodvibes

It would be a mighty blow if the trainers weren't allowed back in the pools, it just wasn't the same when we watched last year :sad2:

I understand though that safety must come first and you must also question now if the whales would welcome them back into the water after all this time. Could potentially be more dangerous than before! :confused3

I understand why they can't be in with them anymore but when I saw the new show for the first time I was really disappointed with it.

We went to see the show a few months after the accident and i really felt for the trainers, they love the animals so much and they do come across as a family, this last year must have been really tough.
I have to agree it wasnt the same, but maybe its time to accept that the trainers will never interact with the whales like that again, and we must now watch the show with different expectations, and not just wow at how high or how fast the whale can throw the trainer through the water and in the air.

I for one would never miss a Shamu show.Just to sit at admire their sheer size and beauty is enough for me.
