Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I know forming a new topic on this new controversial subject will bring out the worst in people so lets keep this tasteful.

1. Please check out this video put out by SeaWorld regarding alligations in The Cove.

www.seaworldparksblog.com/explore/blog/updated-seaworld-discusses-drive-fisheries
This will clearly show that dolphin fisheries have nothing to do with SeaWorld.

2. As to any arguement, please look at both sides regarding this topic.

3. I, myself will forever be a SeaWorld supporter. I have been on the direct SeaWorld team. SeaWorld has taken a lot of scrutiny regarding the major losses of Dawn, Sumar, Tamia and her calf. All of these incidents have drawn the public eye to SeaWorld. In my mind and as the truth, none of this is SeaWorld's fault but I will just leave it at that.
If you look at Dawn's face (that smile) in ANY picture she is in with a killer whale and think for a second that she and the SeaWorld team were and are not taking the best care of those whales, then you need to take another look.

4. Regarding Tillikum, he is 100% getting the best care and as stated on previous topics, he is doing what he has always been doing. When the SeaWorld park's close, the trainers do not leave. Only the public does. Whales get moved to and from pools and with other whales after public closing. With that said, Tillikum is not isolated and gets attention. The trainers are there 24-7, the public is not. Tillikum's life is only different in the way which he experiences and misses the loss of Dawn and Tamia every day. Everything else, his care, nutrition, and exercise is the exact same as it was years ago, just fine.

5. It seems like everyone is all of a sudden for The Cove and what it represents. PETA has had a "hayday" so to say with all of SeaWorld's incidents this year. How come we do not hear about all the animals killed in the oil spill via PETA and along with many other things we all see everyday?
We do not here anything that goes on in the real world from PETA, they are just capitalizing off of SeaWorld's losses this year.

6. SeaWorld's job is one, and one only. To save animals and to educate and I think they are doing a fabuous job.

I PROMISE: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-MAaSFII0c

I'm not sure the video is still available on the link you posted so i thought I'd repost:

I hope thats the same one you were talking about, if not i apologize.

I'm glad you posted this, so many people are watching "The Cove" and forming opinions based on a very biased movie, Seaworld has nothing to do with the drives in Japan and does not buy any of the dolphins captured here.

Could not agree more, thanks for posting this, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who see's it this way.

P.S. Just in case anyone brings it up, I know the video is posted by Seaworld, but it was not made for/by Seaworld in any way.

EDIT: Also I'm not sure why theres a frowning face/angry face at the top of my post :/

First off, regardless of what you have heard or said, Seaworld IS involved in this dolphin slaughter. People are giving their time and lives, putting theirselves in danger, to stop this slaughter.

Honestly, I LOVED Seaworld until I learned about this. I loved dolphins because of Seaworld. But when you look through the cliche taglines and whole theme of the park, what do you see? You see an industry that has gone past the limit just to earn profit.

Incidents have been reported of not only dolphins, but other whales trying to escape. Don't say, "They were just trying to do a stunt or they were just being stupid or made a mistake". They didn't.

When dolphins are put into captivity or born into captivity, they ARE depressed. They're given medication to try to stop the osars they get in their stomachs because of anxiety.

Richard O' Beary, leading dolphin activist and former star on the hit series Flipper, was a dolphin trainer. He was a dolphin trainer just like those at SeaWorld. He's not lieing about Kathy, a dolphin he was training, swimming up to him and committing SUICIDE in his arms.

How would YOU feel if you were put into a tank and having to do the same routine over and over again? Dolphins aren't stupid. In fact, their intelligence is even greater than ours.

Besides, isn't it bad enough that Seaworld even keeps dolphins in captivity, no matter where they get it from.

Think about that. SeaWorld's trying to cover something up. Don't believe them, don't believe the stupid corporates who say "Come to SeaWorld, and BELIEVE the show, BELIEVE the dolphins."

It's ridiculous and insane. What you need to BELIEVE is this slaughter and SeaWorld's connection with the Taiji Dolphin Slaughter import.

Whoa! I don't know where you get your facts. But they have nothing to do with the drive fisheries in Japan. I'm curious as to where you get your facts. Because there is not a single dophin/whale anywhere in the united states that came from Japan. Not one. So how excatly is seaworld involved with the drive fisheries?

First off, how do you KNOW that there isn't a single dolphin or whale in the US from Japan. Are YOU getting your facts from that SeaWorld Rep Video?

If you are, then think about this...you're believing SeaWorld, a money-hungry dolphin industry, rather than dolphin activists who give their time and lives to try to help these dolphins.

Like I said before, even IF there isn't a single dolphin or whale in Seaworld in the US, isn't it bad enough that they even KEEP THEIR DOLPHINS IN CAPTIVITY?

Through govermement websites that prove that none of their animals come from Japan. They control and can step in at anytime if they feel something is up. In order for SeaWorld to obtain any animals (for example...beluga whales) they have to apply for a permit to let it into the United States, and into the State of Florida. So, a few years ago, when they obtained 4 beluga whales from Marieland in Canada, they had to put in several applications to both State and Fedral Goverments and have all of them approved before they could move the animals to florida. And that all of this is public information, if you know where to search for it.

This website seems to be fairly accurate in showing that a vast majority of their animals have been BORN from in captivity. Also, that they haven't recieved animals from the wild in over 20 years. www.deta-base.com

And also, if you are aguring that they are FOR and SUPPORT the drive fisheries in Japan, captivity is a different argument, to which I refuse to talk about on here, because both sides of the agruement aren't going to change their mind reguardless of any FACTS.

This was not a anti captivity post "acenite" so please put your ideas on to an anti captivity board.

This is a pro SeaWorld board and anything opposing that view will start a fight. I said everyone is entitiled to opinions. So maybe you should put yours where others agree with you.

Also, not a single whale or dolphin was a product of the Taiji Dolphin Slaughter.

How did this dolphin commit suicide in his arms exactly? I'd love to read the source of this information.
I can't find it right now, but I read an article that showed that the accusations of dolphin suicide came from 2 sources that were flawed.

If you are, then think about this...you're believing SeaWorld, a money-hungry dolphin industry, rather than dolphin activists who give their time and lives to try to help these dolphins

I would also like to point out that both of these sources are as biased as each other. You can't call someone up on "believing" Seaworld then site dolphin activists as a better source who are just as likely to twist information to represent their opinion.
This is not meant to be taken personally way.

If people don't want to see what's straight in their face, they'll never see the big picture. There's so much more to Sea World than just dolphins and whales swimming in a tank. But no matter how much information you want to put out there, it's not going to make some one see the picture.
I will always love Sea World and everything they do. Last winter would have been devastating for Florida's wildlife, and I'm glad they were around to protect as much as possible. And to all the other rescue organizations that helped. I know Disney was part of it too. I just hope this winter is a repeat of last year's. While it's a hard learning experience, I wouldn't want them to have to use that knowledge again.

I loved SeaWorld. I went there every summer. I loved feeding the dolphins and I loved watching the dolphin shows.

What else can I tell you than to say that in truth, noone knows EXACTLY whether the dolphins were imported from Japan or not.

However, it is my own choice to believe the dolphin activists over SeaWorld.

(Regarding the dolphin suicide)

Ric O' Beary was a part of a hit series, Flipper, back in the old days. He was just like every other dolphin trainer similar to those at SeaWorld. He thought just like a consumer going to a marine park.

One day, Kathy, a dolphin taken from the wild that was placed into captivity, swam up to him and looked him in the eyes. Dolphins, unlike humans, have a choice of whether they want to take the chance to breathe or not. They have the choice to continue to live or not.

Kathy was so depressed in captivity that she swam up into his arms, and stopped breathing. In other words, she committed suicide.

Anyways, like I was saying, if you know Chris Porter, a dolphin trader in the Solomon Islands, he was making huge ka-ching off of selling dolphins. He's changed. He's had dolphins die in his arms, and he's had the on-hand experience of seeing dolphins suffer from captivity.

Many of us have never even seen wild dolphins...we've seen the ones at SeaWorld. Honestly, SeaWorld's broken my heart and killed my trust.

I used to love feeding the dolphins. It was the closest encounter I've ever had with dolphins.

Lastly, ignoring the dolphin drive fisheries, think about why you're a pro for SeaWorld.

I'm not going to make this around captivity, because we all know its wrong....but think on the other side for a change. Why are you pro-SeaWorld when they're keeping dolphins and other animals in captivity?

In 1776, when America finally gained its freedom, we were ecstatic. We gave up lives, suffered through hell, and did everything to gain our freedom. Now, doesn't it seem ironic that we go against freedom by putting dolphins and other animals into captivity? Doesn't it seem ironic when they say all humans are equal, and that now we're promoting the fact that "Hey, they're just dolphins, who cares?", when in all truth, dolphins are even smarter than we are.

Think about that.

WOW 3 posts and all of them in this particular topic, are you sure you just didn't create another account for this sole purpose because you didn't want to post under your regular name or were your trolling around the internet looking for any avenue to promote your activism?

I am sure there are many extremist sites out there where your views would be encouraged and welcomed by others just like yourself however this isn't the place.

The problem with people like you my friend is they are not open to any kind of reason or welcoming to other peoples ideas, no matter what facts or proof are produced to counter your argument you simply ignore them.

Anyway sorry mods for the flame or apparent flame, I shall now take my little mod imposed vacation because I am sure this post will be reported.
