Going to seaworld/dis.cove on june 20 for the first time and can we do both in one day or should I put aside more time? Girls are 8 and 9 yrs old.

We have not done Discovery Cove, but most times when we have guests in town and go to Sea World, we wind up going back for a second day. It is sometimes hard to see all the shows and the exhibits in one day due to the way they are scheduled. We don't go "commando" style, we like to take our time and enjoy! If you have the time in your itinerary and are doing Discovery Cove, you might need 2 days!

My DD is nine now and loves Sea World. We have been there two evenings this week.

Discovery Cove should take you all day. It is a beautiful park, and you should take time to enjoy it, IMO.

Plus, you don't know what time your scheduled dolphin swim is. It could be one of the later ones, then you'd have to be there all day.

Sea World, depending on how much you want to see/do is good for either 1 or 2 days, ultimately you will have to decide how to split your time.

Have fun!!!

Your DC pass gives you 7 days at SWF and BGT. You'll want to take advantage and use those days. I'd estimate that after visiting DC, you'll need 1.5 days at SWF, and you could drive over to Tampa (75 miles) and spend a day at BGT.

DC takes all day. You arrive early in the morning, and leave around 4pm. It's a very relaxing day, but you'll be tired. About the only thing you can do after visiting DC, is go back to your hotel room to rest, eat dinner, and go to bed.

I thought the pass was for either SW or BG not both. Can someone clear this up for me.

We are planning on doing something like this next year. My idea was to spend the whole day at DC and then spend 2 days at SW following. Does that seem about right for time?

Also would you really suggest SW before DC?

All the things I have read suggest you do SW first and it could be a disappointment after DC.

We did Sea World first followed by DC and really enjoyed both parks. I am not sure what difference it would make except for the feeding of the sting rays which you can do at DC while in the water with them. Other than that I thought both parks were very different. Sea World has shows and DC has none. Sea World has rides and DC has none of course there is riding the dolphin :sunny:

I think it's the opposite. After you visit DC, you'll have a better understanding of the dolphins. So when you go over to the Keywest area to feed them, you'll enjoy it more.

And yes, we since found out that the DC badge only gets you into SWF or BGT. In the past it used to be both. Now there is a slight charge if you want to visit both, but they add on 7 extra days if you pay the small fee, for a total of 14. Most will just visit SWF and not drive over to BGT.

BGT is SOOO worth the drive however for folks that have the time!!! Buses leave daily from SW, and other locations around Disney.

DD and I went for the first time this past weekend, and I can't believe we waited so long to make the drive. It is such an awesome place.

We still need to do DC.
