When we go to Florida in August the first few days Seaworld is open till 10 and I see there are a couple of shows in the evening including fireworks. Is it worth us rearranging things so we can see this or shall we stick to our original plan of going one day till about 4 and another day in the afternoon but it would only be open till 7 ?

In a nutshell are the evening shows at Seaworld anything special ?

Thanks :)

We always love SW and Christmas 2008 saw the 'Believe' show at night & then watched the fireworks on the water. I think it's worth seeing.

Why not go later to SW to see then and go earlier to another park if you want to do 2 parks that day? :dance3:

Thanks

Yes that was the plan but then we realised SW was only open till 7pm, we would have to go the first few days of our holiday for it to be open till 10pm and that means cancelling or changing one of our meals

Hard to say whether or not it will be better for your family in the evening, we're all different. What I will say however, is that we tend to prefer SW in the evening, as when we've done it during the day, we all tend to melt!!!! I know it doesn't really make sense, but it seems hotter in SW than in most of the other theme parks.... not sure if its a combination of fewer indoor things, or the walking, or whether its simply we're not as use to SW as some of the other parks, but thats how we find it...

It's been a while since we have done the night time shows at SW but we always really enjoyed them, it was nice to see different shows that you wouldn't normally get to see so I would say give it a go!

On our last visit we found the Seaworld a big disappointment. So much so we left half way through!

We've always enjoyed the evenings at SW - don't miss Sealions tonight, possibly the funniest show in SW.

Pre-Mantra days, we found that in the evenings, Atlantis and Kraiken were virtually walk-on, so we tended to spend one full day and evening watching the shows/fireworks in the evening, then went back for a second late afternoon/evening mainly to ride Atlantis and Kraiken.

We have just got back from our holiday and we did seaworld at night after we did aquatica water park in the day.

Our observations were that Atlantis ,Artic and kraken were virtually walk on rides after 6pm manta was 15 minutes.

Pets ahoy show was ok
Sealions was very funny especially if you have already done the park, as they take the mick out of the whole park.
Shamu was cancelled.
Fireworks were good but not as good as wishes.

Other observations from going 5 years ago, is that the dolphin show was still good, but not nearly as much interaction with the dolphins as previous, more people and acrobat related.

Also shamu show was very dissapointing again compaired with last time, very little swimming with the whales, still did the splashes and everything though.

We have done SW many times but never at night, until now.We were there three weeks ago.We went once during the day,and because it was so hot we only spent half a day there,so we went back the following week in the evening. Its a lot more plesant, crowds not as much and a lot cooler. We saw Shamu Rocks, and we enjoyed it more the Believe, maybe because during Believe the female Whale was not cooporating. Then we went straight over to the fireworks which were great. They have a warm up guy on first to get the audience going with disco music which is good. One thing i would say though is if you compare their fireworks to Disneys you will be dissapointed.
I would say if you can fit it in its a must:)

The trainers are not allowed to swim with the whales anymore after the trainer was killed by one of the whales ealrier on in the year.
I agree the show is not the same anymore, but i completley understand why they have done this.

We actually prefer the evening shows at Sea World, we find the day time shows too sweet for us. Shamu Rocks is far better than the Believe show in our opinion as is the Sea Lion show on a night where it takes the mick out of all the other Sea World shows. We tend to do an early day at Sea World then go for an evening walk round.

I asked a similar question over in the Seaword/Discovery Cove forum only for the evening stuff in December. We did end up shuffling out itinerary so we could do a late night just based on the reviews/photos and stuff.

I also asked whether we could afford to get there a bit later if we're going to stay till closing...the response so far is a no! :eek

9-11 is a looong day so we're probably going to have to take our chances arriving a bit later and accept we won't be able to do everything. We'll definitely want to do Clyde & Seamore and Believe, Blue Horizons if we can, probably won't be able to squeeze in Pets Ahoy which is a shame...and Manta/Kraken/Journey, of course.

This thread has given me a bit more hope though!

My friends came back from SW on Saturday and they said that the Believe show was well worth it. Looks like we should do SW the first 2 weeks as it's open till 10.

If i's ony open till 8 does that mean that there's no evening show/fireworks :confused3
