Seaworld AP holder question?

If you wait to purchase an AP at the gate do you miss out on the free parking for that day or do they reimburse you? I've been trying to purchase e-passes online but having been having trouble with their system?? I'm trying to figure out the refund policy on unused passes as well.

I've been debating between purchasing a FL fun card for myself and dd or a silver AP for me and fun card for her so I can save on the parking since we plan to go a few days this week. But, if I miss out on saving $10 for one day I may just do the fun card.

For anyone who has purchased an AP at the gate what's been your experience?? (especially during the busier times of the year)

In April, I upgraded my Busch Gardens Silver Passport to include Sea World. I did it at the passholder services area before you enter the park. I asked to be reimbursed for parking and was given $10.00 in Shamu money. So, they won't give you cash but you can use the Shamu money anywhere in the park.

Ahh, well that's good to know. I would guess you could use the Shamu money for meals? I'm sure we'll end up buying "other" stuff but just curious. That would be great. Thanks! :thumbsup2

I received two $5.00 Shamu money cards. We bought snacks with them, so you can definitely use them towards the cost of food. You can't receive any change, however. My son bought a pretzel, a soda and something else and the total was around $4.65. No change was given so make sure your purchase is more than $5.00.

Thanks, I'm sure our lunch will easily exceed $10.

I bought a silver AP online. I wondered about having to pay for parking, as online you print out a voucher which you must exchange at the gate for your actual pass. However I found you just show the voucher to the parking booth and remind them you park free as soon as you exchange the voucher, and they do not charge you for parking. :thumbsup2 The silver AP is worth it. But you must print out your voucher at home to take with you.

Or you could have someone drop you off in front of the Rennasonce Hotel and circle the block a couple of times or go up Idrive a couple of blocks to grab a bite at McDonalds while you sprint the 1/4 mile and back to the ticket counter to get your pass, then pick you up and go into the parking, if you really do not want to part with the $10. :teeth:

Like my OP said I was trying to decide between a Funcard or a Silver pass. I think we'll get there once more this year and since the Silver AP gives you free parking and the 10% food & mds in the park I though that would be the better value at only $30 more.

Thanks for the idea, but I don't think I'll be circling parking lots or anything like that to save the $10, just wondering if they reimburse you if you purchase the pass at the gate, that's all. ;)
