Seattle Pictures

My first trip to Seattle, I remember being so disappointed in the Space Needle. Isn't it much smaller than you imagined? It seems so much bigger on TV. It isn't even the tallest building in Seattle! The CN Tower is much more impressive.

When the Space Needle was built in 1962 it was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. The pictures from the World's Fair are that much more impressive given the extra view that wasn't blocked by dozens of taller buildings.

And of course it doesn't help that the show Frasier placed the Needle in the Downtown area and made it taller.

Great pics Jules, glad you had a good time. The number of homeless in that area looks worse because of the tourists. Since the tourist area is so small (about 8 blocks square) their grouping makes it look worse than it really is.

Thanks for sharing your pics and so glad you enjoyed your visit! Our daughter and family live an hour north of Seattle, so we've been blessed with several visits west and always enjoyed touring the city and surrounding area. So many interesting things to see and do in that part of the beautiful USA. :goodvibes
