I just checked flights from Seattle on Expedia.ca. They're down to 270.00CDN. Flying out of Vancouver would cost me more than double.

It is a great deal. I check everyday on Travelocity and the fares from Seattle to Vancouver have been the lowest I have ever seen. I only wish I was planning a trip but I have already been once this year...

I just paid $569 CDN plus tax to fly out of Vancouver in November. $270 is definitely a good deal.

Was that $569 plus taxes on top of that? I wish the Vancouver-Orlando fare would go down every once in awhile. It would make life so much more convenient. I wonder if it would be worth it to pay for a flight to Seattle just to avoid the drive.

Nope it was 569 plus taxes (the taxes were about $82). We didn't want to drive to Seattle with three young kids and flying didn't seem to really save us that much money in the long run. It might be be the time we are going though. The thing that is really tough is if you wait in hopes that you might get a better deal and the flights sell out then you are out of luck because there are not a lot of choices for Vancouver to Orlando flights.

It seems to me, whatever time of year it is, the Vancouver-Orlando fare is always about that much. As there is just the two of us to worry about, I can see how convenience becomes important to you. You are right, it is a gamble when to buy tickets. Because I have not been able to decide, I have been watching the fares go up a few dollars each day (and taxes add up really quickly on that). I would really like to go in January, I just have to hope there will be some deals on hotel and airfare then as there are now.

Well I first got quotes on airfare about 4 months ago and in that time the price has basically stayed the same. There were about 6 flights I think that we could choose from but I wanted the layover to be in a "warm" state so that there is less likely to be a problem with weather delays on the layover which narrowed our choice down to 3 flights I think!

We did this in jan 2000 and got the flights for 129/US. There are some great deals out there!!

Thank you Kaos Creator! I have been hoping to plan a trip for January 2002 and it makes my day to hear I might get a break in airfare! I just saw on Travelocity that they reduced the airfare from Vancouver to Orlando to $495 (before taxes). Unfortunately, that may be as good as it gets.
