I'm still waiting for someone to tell me where Kansas fits in with the North vs. South. I'm curious if I should be offended at some of the posts or not?![]()

You'll have to be offended by the people north of you for the southern comments, and the people south of you for the northern comments. The good news is that since you're landlocked, you can ignore the east coast west coast part.I'm still waiting for someone to tell me where Kansas fits in with the North vs. South. Can't we all just get along so that there will be more of us to go after the Brazilian tour groups.![]()

We're simply jealous of the scenery. I think I have it now! Except did we win the war or lose?

Rowing the same boat.I have taught my children (all grown now) that a kindness to others is always a good thing. On almost every trip to WDW at least one of them has given up their seat, often to the amazment of the person they gave it to.
I have given up my seat many times. I am an over fifty year old woman - I can stand for a few more minutes in order to help someone who needs a seat more.
Do we have to do this? No. Is someone "entitled" to a seat (I really dislike that word)? Again, no.
Do I feel this is the right thing to do? Oh, yes!
So, do what your heart tells you is right - and so will I.

Honestly, if I see an elderly person or a pregnant woman, most of the time (but honestly, not ALWAYS) I will offer them my seat. But sometimes, I might have bad blisters on my feet, I might have twisted my ankle, I might have a migrane. You wouldn't know any of those things if you look at me, but it's a valid reason for me to keep my seat that I waited for. As I always say, You don't necessarily need to condemn someone who doesn't seem to be doing what YOU think is the right thing, because you don't know WHY they aren't doing what you think they should be doing. Maybe they have a migrane, maybe they've been waiting standing for 45 minutes for that bus. Maybe they just twisted their knee. The reality is that seats on the bus are FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. Its nice for someone to give up their seat for someone they thing 'deserves' it more, but its a nice gesture, nobody shoudl EXPECT it.
My DS and I were recently at a community wide meeting that took place after flooding in our town. We were among the first people there, and we had seats. When I saw how crowded it was going to be, I had my son give up his seat for someone, and he sat on my lap. As it got more crowded, I gave up my seat. By the time it was packed, the community people running the meeting asked EVERYONE to give up their seats for someone who needed it more. And an incredible thing happened: 90% of the people in seats got up and stood in the back so that the older community members could sit down. And for a good ten minutes, NOBODY would take one of those seats.Everyone was telling one another "no, I can stand, YOU sit" "no, no, no, YOU sit..." It was kind of funny. Eventually, the older people did sit down.
We also saw the polite seat standoff several time during our trip. Person A gets up for person B, person B politely declines and Person A insists, person B declines and they both stand the whole time. The seat stays empty.
While I'm thinking about it I can recall at least 5 instances where people were standing on the bus when there were still seats in the back that people were unwilling to walk to, including those throwing thier entitlement glares around. After 10/1 Wishes we saw this leaving from MK we were in the back and there were 5 seats open no one took them started crowded in and standing at the front and it was crazy busy. We even hollared a few times up to the front there are seats back here but no one took them.
