Can someone tell me how the seats are on airtran and is the space the same size as on Southwest?

I also saw on airtran that they have 2x2 seats and 3x3, is the 2x2 side of business class? That side looks much more comfortable...
TIA....

Airtran uses 737's and new 717's, while I believe SWA is all 737's. SWA has no first or business class. I believe Airtran does have business class.

737's are 3 and 3 and IMHO, a tad more comfortable on SWA than USAirways...except for that infamous middle seat. 717's are 2 and 3 and the 2-seat side should offer more room although every airline configures things differently. I haven't flown AT, so can't comment on specifics or actual comfort level.

go to top of transportation board and go to the site below

(Awesome WebSite on Airline Seats) you can see the seating.

717's have 2 seats on left side and 3 on right.

737's are all 3 l and 3 r

To me, the 717 seating is better than the 737 seating. Or it might just be that they are newer planes. :)

I have to tell you that IMHO (and my DH's too) the seats on AT seem ... flimsy. If you travel on them you will see what I mean. The padding is thin, the armrests are thin. It is like Ikea designed them (no offense to Ikea lovers, of which I am one). :sunny:

Every SW flight I have been on has had nice leather seats (I know that all SW planes don't have this) and a little more leg room than AT or USAir.
Good luck!
