Seating of partial parties at TS restaurants?

Will restaurants seat part of a party at TS restaurants at WDW? FOr example, can my husband and girls check-in, be seated, order drinks and apps while I check into the resort (if resort check-in is taking long)?

Depends on the restaurant. I've been places where they insisted the entire party be present before seating. Boma once let me be seated after I explained to them that my friends were stuck waiting for a bus from Downtown Disney.

1) Most eateries want the entire party present.
2) Eateries make profit by "turning" tables and getting more meals per hour.
3) If they constantly wait for people, the order doesn't get to the kitchen.
4) With delayed orders, there are less "turns" per hour.
5) It is a profit thing, not a courtesy thing.

I don't think they will allow this. I have observed many TS restaurants refusing to seat a partial party. I know on one occasion we had to wait until DH (who was only in the Men's Room) joined us.
