seating for big groups at dinner

Hi,

We started out our plans for our Aug. 1 cruise with 2 families. It has now grown to 5 or 6 families as of today ... that's about 10 adults and 12+ kids aged 2 - 15. How does DCL handle large parties like that?

With 22+ people you won't all be at one table. I would guess that if you link your reservations you will all be in the same section of the dining room, possibly at two large tables. We had 12 people on our last cruise and were assigned two different tables. Our waiters pulled them together the first night and had them arranged that way every night after. A table for 12 seemed to be the largest table size we saw. If you have multiple tables you can either sit by family or see if they can arrange two tables for 12 with kids at one and adults (or any other configuration you prefer).

On our last cruise our group was about 125 and Disney was terrific with us. We were seated for dinner in the same area and
our seating was just as we requested. If your group gets any bigger you may want to contact group sales and you may be able to get a few extra things from them.

I've seen 18 arranged at one table (actually multiple tables pulled together.) Any bigger than that, and it becomes the same area of the dining room, with the tables set up any way you'd like. Just let them know how you want it done.

On our last cruise, there was a family group of 40 (not us!) They set them up with 2 serving teams in adjoining areas.

We are a group of 11 and Dad's one request is that we all eat dinner together, and he's a cranky one when he doesn't get his way, so hopefully we'll have one big table!

We were a group of 23 last November! They had us at 3 different tables and two sets of servers. It was a table for 10, 7, and 6. We did it by family group and then traded on certain nights. If you request it they can usually make sure it happens. It was great to be a group this big-always have someone else who wants to do something with you and you have a built in crowd for the adult party nights and deck parties!

We were a group of 15 last November. We had two tables, one for the 6 adults and one for the 9 kids. It was awesome, the servers totally took care of the kids. Sonny and Jonny were are servers. They told us they are usually assigned the large parties, so if you get them, tell them the clevelanders say Hi!

We had 11 in our party two years ago and we all sat at the same table (tables put together). We'll have 12 this fall and assume they will be able to do the same for us again.

This is our first time sailing with other families. Right now there are 17 in our group, and we have requested a table for 9 and a table for 8. There may be 5 more joining us later and we will have to adjust accordingly if they do.

They said they would sit us close together, and that is fine. I guess we will see how it goes. This isn't until September.

On our first cruise in 2002, we were a group of 12 and we were seated at one large table in the center of each room, it was great.

In 2003, we were a group of 29 and we were seated in the same section but at 4 different tables with 2 sets of servers...ok but not as good as first year.
