DD2 will be just over 5 months when we go in March. What kind of seating do the restaurants have for that age? I am guess they only have the wooden high chairs.

DD1 was 2 the first time she went so she just sat in a regular chair.

Wondering what others who have brought a child that age did.

we did a combination of things when we took dd3 at 6mos old... none of which was very convenient... we tried the wooden high chairs but he would slip/slide/not sit up well/etc so we would "pad" the seat w/napkins/diaper bag/etc... we also brought his infant carrier and put that on the chair/bench w/us but it was heavy and bulky and not a great choice...

if i had to do it again, i would likely buy one of those high chair/grocery cart/etc covers... like this http://www.babyspree.com/large-bluezoo.htm

Thanks. Probably wasn't going to bring the infant carrier. DD1 was out grew it (in height) by 5 months and DD2 is taller than DD1. So don't think we will make it that long.

Plus was thinking of bringing a double stroller (I don't have a double for infant carrier).

We have traveled with DS at 3 months and DD at 9 weeks and 3 months and all of those times we used the stroller in the restaurant. Other than Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace which have infant high chairs (not sure of other restaurants), we simply told the rest of the places that he/she could not sit in a high chair and they allowed the stroller. Our two most recent trips we had a Combi side by side stroller and it wasn't a problem. We don't feel comfortable holding our children while we eat and this worked out well for us. When we made dining ressies, we did say we had an infant who could not yet sit up. We also never use the infant car seat either since we use Disney transportation and travel in the summer (too much to carry and too hot). With the double stroller we ate at Kona, Hollywood and Vine, Rose and Crown, Liberty Tree at MK and San Angel. Others with the single stroller (Graco) include Cape May Buffet, Spoodles, Le Cellier, and Tony's at MK.:)

Taking our newborn in Jan when she will be just under 5mon. With our son we propped a pillow behind him..just a small one that was easily crammed into diaper bag. We took the stroller into CS places. We aren't bringing the infant carrier..just a double stroller. Want to avoid using it in TS.

When DD was 3 months the restaurants were very accomodating. They had infant highchairs at Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickeys. Other places she was asleep in her stroller and we just rolled her in. The infant chairs have a seat that is similar to those infant seats you see on top of some grocery carts. I wiped them down and put a blanket between baby and the seat -- although at Park Fare they brought it out with a nice big clean table cloth over the seat.

They discourage strollers in restaurants but they will let them in if baby can't sit or is sleeping. No worries!
