Are all of the seats 3 and 3 on Southwest? I seem to recall (years ago) they had some that were actually FACING each other - 3 facing foward and then 2 facing backwards. Just wondering if they still have any seats like this and, if so, do you recommend it with a family of 4 with 2 lil ones?

What's the best recommendation of how to seat ourselves with 2 adults and a 2 and 3 yr old? DH absolutely needs an aisle due to his back issues. But can't decide if we should do 3 on one side and him across the aisle or 2 and 2.

Any advice for kids that age - first flight!?

I don't believe they have the backwards facing seats anymore. I haven't seen it on any of their planes I've been on.

None of the Southwest planes have the lounge seating anymore, they were eliminated when they rolled out the canyon blue livery.

Your best best would be to sit 3 & 1, or else 2 & 2.

Most recent trip on SWA was with DD, DGS (13), DGS (2) -- trip there we boarded and sat 2 & 2, aisle & window across from one another. Fligh was not full, worked out great. Trip home was full, tried A&W but then DGS (13) moved on over with Mom & brother when seats began to fill. :)

Whose vacation is this? Why can't you sit 3+1, with DH and both kids on one side and you 'opposite' them, or even elsewhere on the plane? ;)

Seriously, though - the rows are staggered, so row 3 on one side is offset from row 3 on the opposite side...

What about DH and one child in the aisle and middle seats respectively, and the OP and the other child in the same seats directly behind or in front of them?
