Seating at 'Ohana?

Just had a quick question regarding the seating at 'Ohanas. DH and I are thinking about eating here our first night at the World. I know the food is served family style, but do you sit with a bunch of other people or would we be sitting at a table for two? I wasn't sure if they had more "private" seating or if everyone was seated at long tables. Either one is OK with me...was just wondering what to expect!! ;)

Since we won't be spending the first day in the parks (arrival day) I had restaurants narrowed down to 'Ohana, 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey's. DH has never been to WDW and knows nothing about it, so I told him I would narrow it down to three and let him choose. I'm kind of hoping he chooses 'Ohana! :D We need to decide tonight, I want to call tomorrow morning.

Anyway, thank you for your help with my original question!

You'll have your very own table.:D

Here are some photos of the interior of 'Ohana:

Ohana is a wonderful choice, one of our favorites! Best tables are along the window facing MK, if you time it right you'll have a beautiful view of MK's fireworks!

Thank you both for your responses! KathyTX, the pictures of the interior are beautiful! Now I am very excited and REALLY want to eat there.:D As soon as DH is done with his work, I am going to show him the info/menu/pictures and let him decide.

BTW, is there any way to request a window table or is it just luck of the draw? We're going in mid-May...what time do you think would be a good PS time to try and catch the fireworks? I think history shows they were at 9:00. Or another thought, would we be able to go out on the beach and watch? We are not staying there if that makes a difference.

I have to say, I am so glad I stumbled onto these boards. You all are so helpful in providing quick and friendly responses!! Thanks so much for your help!

Thank you for getting the correct puncuation! So many people want to make this Polynesian delight ('Ohana) into an Irish pub (O'hana) that it makes me batty!

'Ohana is a great family place with individual family seating...You'll love it!

That's really funny, because I have to catch myself every time I write it. I can't help myself; I'm a teacher. :teeth:

I'm glad you enjoyed 'Ohana too! I am patiently waiting for DH to finish his work so he can choose. But I'm getting tired and if he takes too long, I'll make the choice for him!!!

If your DH doesn't choose 'Ohana for dinner you can always choose to have breakfast there another day. Breakfast is more reasonably priced and is also Family style. My daughters loved it since it was a character meal and they got to go on a conga line with Mickey and Goofy! You may want to opt for that on the last day if you are leaving mid-day for travel. No sense eating a huge breakfast and then going to Epcot and riding Mission Space!! The food at breakfast was fresh, especially the fruit which included pineapple, oranges, banana, and grapes. We had to order additional grapes because our youngest could not stop eating them because they were sooooo sweet (didn't hurt that they were seedless either!).

Dinner is more extravagent and more costly. We haven't had dinner there yet but we will on our next trip. It is also NOT a character meal but since it seems it will just be you and your DH, that probably isn't an issue.

Enjoy your trip!

We ate there last year, there were several tables with just two people.

As far as getting a table by the window, we requested it when we checked in, then when the person came to seat us, I said can we have THAT table and pointed to the one we wanted. We were probably the second group in (our ps was for 5pm) so it was empty and he said sure! and gave it to us. :)

The only thing is that I really don't remember seeing any small tables right by the windows, I think they were all for bigger groups?? But, you can still see the view even if you're not RIGHT by a window.

FANTASTIC PHOTOS!!!:cool2: Thanks for sharing. I love Polynesian theming and it looks great. We will be eating there for the first time in April. I would also be interested in recommendations from the dessert menu:listen: :hyper:

We ate there for both dinner and breakfast in December and asked for and got a table for 2. The funny thing is they gave us the exact same table both times. It was a great location right by the window. We weren't there when the fireworks were going off but it was still a great location and a wonderful experience. i would definately do it again!

we had a table for 2, one row from the window ( large table for 6 or 8 between us and the window) and could see the fireworks and castle but were removed from the action of the races, ect. as we were slightly behind and to the right of the pit...I am not sure you could see the fireworks from right in front of the pit as I think a building kind of sticks out in front of the window there.
