Seating at Biergarten?

As far as going solo, if you are outgoing and don't get put in the same situation I was in, with being the only female at a table with seven males, you'll be fine. I'm going back in Sept, but will be meeting some fellow DISers there, so I know who at least six of my tablemates will be. If a solo gets seated with us, they'll be fine.

Teppen Edo is the same way. I solo'd there.

I sat with a family of 3 from New York and a younger couple from South Carolina. The Biergarten is WAY louder so if your looking for good conversation and an entertaining host, Teppen Edo might be for you. If you like a raucious good time, Biergarten is made to order. :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2:

My family of 5 were with two nice middle aged women. I felt bad for them at first as my littles can me a handful during dinner and did not want to bother them. They were wonderful told us to sit where ever we thought the little would do better and were fun to be with.

The three of us were seated with a really cool older couple from New York, and we had a blast. We were all drinking beer (not the 7 y.o. ;) ) and recommending things from the buffet together. We even gave them some Soarin' fastpasses that we couldn't use. Now, another fam of three was seated with us, and they didn't even look in our direction. You could totally tell that they didn't approve of our giant beers. My theory is that you take the good with the bad.

Sounds good to me! I'm up for a good time, and I like to think I'm outgoing :)

A PP mentioned getting seated with 7 men... we'll, I am a woman but most of my friends are men, so I think I'd be okay with that, too!

Thanks all for tips.. I'm going to give it a try

I'm looking forward to trying Biergarten for the first time in October. I warned DH that we'll be seated with other people - he's not the friendly type (not mean or anything). I told him to look at the positive - it's in preparation for our cruise next year when we get seated with another family for a week!:scared1:

Hopefully one day our families will get seated together. Let the German beer drinking begin! God bless the bus system. :rotfl:

I'm on the shy side and didn't think I'd enjoy sitting with 6 strangers, but there is something about Disney that sets everyone at ease and in a good mood. Or maybe it was the beer, the 'great equalizer'! Either way, it has become the place I look forward to going to most.

I went there last year solo and got seated with 2 nice couples. I'm just amazed though by these stories about people who apparently had no clue that they might be seated with other parties (since you're told that when you make the reservation) and by the people who gave disapproving looks to people who were actually drinking beer at a restaurant called Biergarten!

I can't get over all the disapproving people who didn't like others drinking beer. Maybe, they were jealous?:confused3

All I know all this talk about beer there - I think you all talked me into one. I hadn't thought about that when I booked it. Should I drink that before or after the drink I plan on getting in France? That slushie thing.

Well I had a yummy frozen Margarita in Mexico & DH a few beers before we were seated :thumbsup2 When our table was called we put our hands on the shoulders of one of the German men & trotted in like a train - DH, DS & I. A lovely older couple from TX followed us & were seated with us. The man & my hubby both ordered big stein beers & we had a nice visit & enjoyed the last "oompah" show of the lunch period. I'm glad they were friendly but after Mexico we may not have noticed or cared :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
