We plan to try out Biergarten in December and will have our 2 girls, one of which will need a high chair the other (maybe) a booster. How is the seating there? Is it a bench seat (which I envision to be more authentic looking) or pull out chairs? IE - will it be any problem having a high chair and/or boosters?

ALSO - I know you sit with other people. What size are the tables? We'll be a party of 4 so will we likely be with a larger group of people or another couple or what? And in your experience - have you felt compelled to make small talk with the others at your table or do they pretty much leave you alone? What if you can't stand your table mates? haha (I know, it's just ONE meal, not like I'll be with them forever....) And my BIGGEST fear - what if we're at a table with other kids who distract my girls and they don't eat?

Just curious to know what to expect from the experience. Food sounds great, DH will love the beer and the entertainment/music sounds fun/festive!

THANKS!

The tables at Beirgarten seat eight and they use regular chairs, so no problem using a high chair/booster.

We've made very little small talk with our tablemates in the past, usually just general "hellos", smiles, and maybe a "where are you from". I'm not very outgoing and not a big talker, so take that for what it's worth.

If your concerned about your girls being distracted by others, sit them on the end, with you and DH beside each of them so you have a buffer to others. Plus I think generally speaking kids are more comfortable just sitting next to a parent than a stranger. Plus as a parent, I'd rather have my DS just annoy me and no one else ;)

Hope this helps answer any questions you might have!

In our past experiences at Biergarten - we have had 4 or 5 - sometimes we interact sometimes we don't. It all depends on them and you. We met a lovely family who had some great tips for us of things to do and very interesting stories and then other families that did not want to evey look at us and barely even acknowledged our presence.

If you don't feel like talking you don't need to it is up to you. People get the hint if you answer briefly and don't ask questions back. :)

Hope this helps some.

we just went with a party of 5, my ds is in a high chair, no problem at all..we sat with 3 women who were very nice and understanding of my extremely loud children. tables seat 8 we made small talk about the parks and where are you from kinda deal that was it! never saw them again

we also ate at teppan edo where u eat with others...we ran into the 2 seperate partys twice, they were super sweet and went out of there way to say hi to us

We ate there with a party of 6 - 4 adults, DS4 and DS2. No problem with high chair for DS2. DS4 sat in regular chair. There was a couple seated at the end of our table - we did not interact at all, they actually were in and out pretty quickly. It was a bit cramped, but we had a few adults at a our talbe who are a bit larger than average. Food was great - we are going back this May (with a party of 4).

You'll be seated with four other people. Could be another family of four or it could be two couples or it could be a party of three and a party of one. You just don't know.

We've been to the Biergarten several times and the interaction with the others at the table is really up to you. Usually, if there is a family of four, they tend to keep to themselves and the others interact (maybe). I wouldn't worry about that at all. I'd sit yourselves in between the kids and other people not only so your kids won't be distracted but so you will be the only ones who need to deal with your kids.
