seating a Wantilan Luau

Is the seating for the Wantilan Luau for individual parties, or is it communal? Incidentally, if it matters we are a party of 3. Thanks in advance!

I have never been to the luau, but could see it from my room at RPR. The seating looked communal.

We went last weekend , there were large shared tables (I'm guessing the tables seated 12 or so?)

Great show don't miss it, but the Mai-Tais were all juice - get the beer or wine instad if you are looking for a "drink".

Thanks guys for your input. We are undecided as to which luau we want to try on our trip. The one at RPR or the one in Daytona Beach. I was kinda hoping that the seating was seperate. I was going to use that as the deciding factor. Oh well, now I'm stuck trying to decide again.

Another question: How is the food served?

Please, give me your opinions! After a few weeks of comparing the two and still being undecided, obviously I need someone else to make up my mind for me. That someone could be you.

How far in advance can you call? Is it difficult to get reservations? I've heard they have been doing the Luau on Friday and Saturday nights. Is that still the schedule?

We are planning to go in October. I'm concerned about getting a reservations during HHN.

I find that it is fun to sit a a table with other people.
If you really don't want to make conversation with them you
don't have to. BUT- Don't be surprised at the amount
of very nice people you can meet.

Thanks for the info. It's not sitting with other people that we mind. I love meeting new people. We are always apprehensive of the idea of eating out of the same bowls or trays as others. We're definitely not snobs! We just have our little quirks. How's the food served?

Dont' know much about the Luau in Daytona, so I can't help there, but the one at the Royal Pacific was very nice.
We moved tables & were only sitting with 2 other couples (only 1 of which had kids) & the couple with kids left about half way thru, so we were at a large table of 4!

Ok, food.
Buffet - everything from Kim Chee to a whole roast pig, salad fixings, fresh fruits, baby ribs in guava bbq sauce, desserts, pb & j , chicken fingers & pizza for the kids.

Lots more stuff that I didn't get a chance to try (we ate a late lunch, so just hit the highlights of the luau buffet) but really, so much stuff that you could not eat a bite of everything - TONS of food.
Serve yourself (normal buffet) but they had someone carving the pig (which was WHOLE!) .
Real plates, & silverware & waiters & waitresses that took your drink orders & cleared away the empty plates.

It was awesome & I would definately do it again.

Oh & it was great to go right back up to the room - having it so close & all.

No worries, no sharing.
They have main bowls that your serve yourself out of, ( in the buffet area) but no sharing once it's on your plate.

It was only Saturdays when we were there, but that could have changed.
You can make reservations 30 days in advance.

Well worth a meal during your next trip.
We had dinner there, but I think they are
