Rang Virgin Yesterday To Request Skycot On Outward And Return Flights Was Available So That Is Great
But Then They Told Me I Could Not Request A Specific Bulk Head Seat
So Heres My Problem
There Are 5 Adults And 1 Child(4) And I Infant
How Can I Make Sure That We All Sit Together On The Plane
If They Wont Tell Me What Bulk Head Seats We Have Got Until I Arrive At The Airport
Has Anybody Had This Problem And How Did It Work Out

Hiya -
the short answer is you can't absolutely and totally ensure you will ALL get seated together - however.......
If you check in early - or twilight if at Gatwick, then you shouldn't have trouble..... :goodvibes

Depending on the number of infants booked on the flight , you may, of course, only be allocated one or 2 bulkhead seats with others in the party having to sit close by beside or behind you... that is why they cannot say which one/ones have been allocated to you ...

You do have to be an early bird - ie nearer the the start of check in than the end for that 7 together - though of course you could split into 2 parties and have not so much trouble... we were seated 2 and 2 once - no hassle, you are not exactly expected to stay glued to the seat for the whole flight......

We were at Gatwick once when a group of 9 kicked up a huge fuss since they couldn't be seated more than 2 together - basically they tried to check in in the last 10 min and expected a block would have been "reserved" for their large party....:faint:

Your best bet as the pp says is check in early, but remember that a lot of the bulkhead seats have the bassinet points, and they won't seat someone in those seats if there are others who need the bassinet (or the bulkhead space for that matter). Your party are more likely to get seated in the rows behind you. I'm sure they will work it out somehow :goodvibes

Plus remember the airlines tend to seat passengers with infants and small children first and they will let you take a stroller to the departure gate which can be a big help. You'll get it back at the other end:thumbsup2

How old is the baby going to be. We are currently in the same delima trying to decide if it is worth asking for a sky cot for Seth he will be 10 months.

I think we have decided not to ask for skycot for the following reason

1. I think the wee porker may be too big for it and not sleep in it anyway. :goodvibes
2. We are probably more likey to get a spare seat beside us else where other than bulk head and therefore will be able to request their skyseat for him.
3. If he won't sleep in the skycot and only on one of us, we can't lift the arms up between us to give us some more space and be more comfortable.

We have requested a skycot for our son who will be 9 months old when we travel next month. There will be 4 of us travelling (2 adults, a 3 yr old and a 9 month old). We re hoping the skycot will ensure we get bulkhead seats and that nobody will want to sit in the 4th seat next to the family with a crying baby and a busy 3 yr old. :scared1: Hopefully the flight won't be full, however that is probably not going to be the case in July. Also as someone has already posted we may end up being seperated anyway with only one of us having a bulkhead seat. Thanks for the advice about checking in early- We'll certainly use twilight check in to try and be able to sit together. Does anyone know if seats can be reassigned after they've been allocated ?
