Having seen posts over the past couple month about seat assignments for dinner we decided to post our experience here for others to see.
Many posts showed cruisers upset on where they were seated in the dining room and what " obstruction" was in their way. We just returned last from our second 7 night cruise and here is our take on dining seat assignments.
We had 2 tables put together and a total of 13 people. Ages ranged from 11 months to over 70 years old. We were in the left corner of all the restaurants and a little more than 1/2 way back. We had a wall the whole distance behind our table and on the opposite side of the table and equal with the wall was the ....DREDED SERVING STATION. So what !!! did this ruin our dinners, of course not, we did have to do some musical chairs once in a while if one of the babies or children needed to be moved, but you would do that most likely in a restaurant in your home state.
We were never left out of any of the dining activities, characters, flag parades, light shows and so on.
Our feelings are that in day to day life some one gets the heel of the bread, someone has to use the middle seat on an airplane and some cruise group must be seated next to a serving station. We think that if you have a great group together for dinner then where you are seated is so very minor. Our group had such a great time at dinner that we have all re-booked for next year and plan on linking dinner reservations again to share a BIG table.
Oh, by the way we are 5 different families with no ties to each other and met fact to face for the first time on the ship.
Enjoy your cruise dining experience, do not waste time on worrying on where you will be seated, just go have a great time and you will not miss out on anything.
