It is amazing how things change. I never went to Disney World until I was 30. Now we've gone 5 times in the last 6 years. And now we're thinking of getting an annual pass.

We started out visiting during the Holidays, and we clearly love all the decorations at Christmas. But Halloween is now our favorite season because of F&W and MNSSHP. We're going to start and end our AP in October.

But if we get an AP, we figure we'll try to visit during some other times of the year. Clearly we want to hit the Flower and Garden festival.

But are their any other times of year with decorations that are unique?

I have to assume they have some 4th of July trim (red, white, and blue) during part of the summer. But is this only around the 4th of July? When does that start?

Choosing a time to visit in the summer seems hard in general. The 24-hour day on Memorial Day Weekend seems fun. But so do the 4th of July fireworks. Are those really better than the fireworks they show on a regular night in June? And what about the Sounds like Summer concerts? How do these compare to the Food & Wine acts? They are cover bands but those can be better or worse. And opinions? And then there is that darn Villains day. We'd like to do that sometime too. But we still don't know enough about how that will go each year.

Basically, if you had no other constraints, what events would you try to hit from Jan 1- Sept 15?

Wow - after reading your post, I started thinking and realized that we've been there over the past 10 years at least once during every month. We started going in the summer months, then in December for the Christmas decorations and during Easter break a few times. We've been in Feb/Mar when they used to have ESPN weekends and last year went for marathon weekend. Also last year, we were there on July 4th - did the dessert party and had a great view of the special fireworks - definitely worth it - patriotic themed. I do believe Main Street was decorated with red, white & blue and they handed out little flag pins on our way in. I can't really comment on the concerts, but LOVE the flower & garden festival. Spring is a really great time - weather is beautiful. I think my favorite time of year is still Nov/Dec - not too crowded but can enjoy the Christmas decorations and events. We would love to get to a Star Wars weekend, but it's hard with end of school. And the 24 hour events sound like a lot of fun. Basically, I don't think there is a bad time to go!

flower and garden is my favorite spring event (especially now that they have added some food booth elements from the food and wine festival).

orlando summers are too much for me, though, so mid-may is about as late in the spring as i'll travel to wdw if i can help it. i would like to go for july 4 at some point, though.

Cool! Even if it is crowded, I think we will try to be there for the 4th of July next year. I feel so blessed that we live closer to Florida now and can make it down more frequently. It really changes your perspective. The first time I went I was so worried about seeing everything and about avoiding crowds. Now we just try to find a few unique things for each trip to go along with our favorites and if the parks are crowded, we know we'll be back. And the patriotic fireworks and banners sound like a good excuse for a summer trip in the middle of our AP!
