Season Pass question

Hello,

I plan to buy the Disney Southern California Select Passport for my sister and I this Christmas and I have a question.

I understand that you have to provide proof of residency when you pick up the tickets for the first time (I plan to buy them online). I am 18 and have a socal drivers licence, but my sister is 15 and does not have any form of government ID. However, she does have a school ID from her high school. Would that be sufficient? How are minors suppose to prove residency?

Also, I have heard that the day you buy the tickets you can enter the park, even if it is a blackout day for your type of pass. Is this true? I can't find anything about that on the Disneyland website.

Thanks in advance!

As long as an adult shows proof of residency in the approved zip code area in Southern California, your sister should be ok. I'm pretty sure being 18 years old should be fine. If you have a passport or any other document saying that you and your sister live in Southern California, that could possibly work. A school ID might work if there is an expiration date/year on the student ID. My parents always bought the Deluxe pass, so I never had to show any documentation of living in So Cal. This is just a guess.

I know you used to be able to enter the park when you bought the pass on a blackout date. That was before they changed from taking your pictures inside the park to outside. I'm not sure if this is still the case, because I do know Disney was thinking about ending that. My parents and I only tried that once and were able to get in. Every other time, we didn't necessarily care to go on a blackout day.

I renewed my DD So Cal pass on Friday and they only asked her what her address/zip was.
Sweet! Do you know if the perk where, if you purchase a pass on a blackout day, you are allowed to go on that blackout day is still in effect?

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the info. Since we have the same last name I think we should be ok. I'll have her bring her school ID just in case. I'm still trying to find info on the blackout thing. The only thing I have found is where you can purchase a Disneyland ticket at the gate and then upgrade it to an annual pass in the park. I would have preferred to purchase the ticket online so there is no hassle. I also saw someone saying that you can get into the park the first day you use the pass, even if it is a blockout date and you purchased the ticket days beforehand. However, that was in 2011 and from what I understand Disney is always changing their policies. Would the best bet be to just buy the ticket at the park instead of online? My sister and I wouldn't go to Disneyland on Christmas anyways but it would be cool to go the week of Christmas even though it is a blackout week for the pass. But I don't want to drive all the way to Anaheim and be rejected admission.

If someone could clarify the policy that would be wonderful.

Thanks!

For the blackout pass, when you are purchasing the pass at the ticket window, just let them know that you will be going into the park that day and will need a blackout pass. They will give you a printed card (looks like the parking ticket) that you will have to show when you enter or park hop that day along with your AP.

If you pay to park in one of the DLR lots (usually Mickey & Friends or Toy Story), bring the parking stub to the ticket booth. The CM may apply the cost of your parking to your total payment. (Not sure if this works for passes without parking attached, but it can't hurt to try.) Have any DISers out there tried this recently with success?
