i was just looking into the activities that there are in florida as well as the theme park and i noticed that there was this seascreamer in clearwater and i was wondering what exactly it is and if anyone has done this activity
any help would be gratefully recieved

We've done the Seascreamer and really enjoyed it. We got to see the dolphins which was wonderful. We got absolutely soaked. Be careful and wear lots of sunscreen.

We've been on the sea-screamer twice, in 1999 and 2003. It really is a fantastic ride for the money, very fast, very wet and (a) very good chance of getting sunburnt. Be extra careful.

On the 2nd ride we thought we were out of luck with the guaranteed dolphin sightings. We waited and waited but then the captain decided enough was enough and headed back to the marina. Within 2mins of this, suddenly 4 dolphins appeared as if on cue. Marvellous.

Clearwater is a fantastic place, the beaches are amazing and the weather has always been spot on when we've been. In fact I don't think I've been anywhere as hot as on that day in 1999!!

Enjoy!!

I would like to do this but I'm worried that I would be sea-sick. How bumpy is it and for how long?

SandieUK,

Seascreamer is a must do if you are in Clearwater. Personally I don't think you should worry about being seasick. It lasts just under an hour altogether. The fast bit is only very short and not as vomit inducing as the teacups at WDW.

We spent a week just north of Clearwater in December 03.

We did the dolphin trip on the Little Toot... a converted tug. Much smaller than the Seascreamer, which wasn't on duty anyway.

Personally we loved Little toot, great captain, only seats about 30-32 people and a very personal experience. The dolphins are awesome.

Whichever you choose, you'll love it. I'd imagine the Seascreamer is faster ( although Little Toot is no slouch ) as the name suggests!!....the sea is smooththough, so I very much doubt if seasickness would be possible ( depends on your tummy, though!).

Worth it to see the houses of the rich and famous, Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson...and Hulk Hogan, HH bought an ancient Buckinghamshire mansion and had it taken apart and re-built in Clearwater!! Only improvement is he had a sliding roof installed...!

While you're there , try to go to Pier 60 ( dead opposite Seascreamer & all the other boats ) for the nightly Sunset Festival. Great occassion, fire-eaters, puppeteers, mime artists etc perform for free, although a donation is always welcomed.
