Seafood Restaurant suggestions

Is Flying Fish worth the time to get there from Epcot? I know the food is supposed to be great, I'm just not sure how long it will take us to walk there from say.... Japan.

Doesn't look like a far walk but we will have a young child (age 5). Seems like a fun restaurant. But if not worth stopping what we are doing in World Showcase and walking over..... I could just pick another Epcot WS restaurant.

It's probably a 10-15 minute walk, I'd guess (because you have a young child walking it). It's really a wonderful restaurant, but honestly, I'd only recommend it for reservations before 6-6:30 latest if you have a child going with you. We had a 6:50 reservation in November this past year and I honestly do not remember seeing a single child in the restaurant. That being said, the food was absolutely TDF good!

Since you have a child over the age of 4, if you really wanted to do FF, I'd suggest booking 2-3 hours at the child care center at Beach Club maybe. They'll feed your child dinner. After you're done with FF, maybe take your sweetie to Beaches and Cream at the BC/YC. :)

Would you say the seafood at Flying Fish is spectacular? Are there other restaurants (table service) in Epcot that have good seafood too?

We are already planning on Coral Reef, Biergarten, and San Angel Inn. We were also thinking about Le Cellier, Chefs de France, or Garden Grill. Don't want to go to Teppan Edo, been there before and places like that are everywhere at home.

I thought we could combine dinner at Flying Fish with looking at the Christmas decorations at Boardwalk, and also maybe Beach and Yacht Club. But we could save walking time to have more time at Epcot.

Not worried about DS4 in restaurants. He was great last year at signature restaurants - Citrocos, Narcoosees, California Grill, Jiko... By 5:30 or 6pm, he already had a lot of fun and was content to sit for an hour+ and relax. We usually do 5:30pm when the signature restaurant 1st opens, no waiting then. We won't use the child care places - I dont' trust people that much even at Disney.

Hands down Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney is the place for seafood for us. I never miss a meal here on our trips to Disney.

* Flying Fish Cafe at Boardwalk Inn-excellent food quality but very pricey, best steamed mussels, salmon is also good, but don't love the lentil bath it's served on (hope they change that). Even their steak is good.

* Coral Reef-we enjoyed very much last time we were in WDW. The trout was excellent. We were there for a late lunch and had not wait (nor was there a fishy smell, if that were the case we probably would have left too;-)

* Narcoosees-used to love this place, last experience or 2 not so good. Overpriced and food quality was mediocre at best. I hear the lobster is what to go there for.

* Citrocos-pretty good. Had the salmon the last 2 times we were there and this past time it wasn't as good as the prior time. Also pricey, but overall it's usually good.

* Le Cellier-love their salmon and their salads

* Crystal Palace-the best ancho chili salmon!! But that's the only seafood item I recall being on the buffet

Although it's a been a while, we have eaten at Blue Zoo which was very good. I think I had the snapper which was excellent (LOL I can remember exactly but I DO remember liking what I got;-)

Had a shrimp salad at Paradiso 37 in DTD and enjoyed that.

The last time we ate at Captain Jacks I remember the food tasting like it was frozen.:sad2: They really need to think of a refurbish there.

Didn't enjoy the Cape May Clambake the last time we went. It was so crowded around the buffet and most of the kid's items were almost empty and we had to wait a 1/2 hr until they got filled. Try that with a 8-9 yr old hungry child at the end of a Disney day, wasn't a fun trip. For almost the same $$ we could have gone to FF and gotten much fresher, cooked to order food.

From Feb 2010 trip -
The crispy whole yellowtail snapper at Narcoossee's was delicious. And believe it or not, the Mahi Mahi sandwich at the CS @ Contemporary was surprisingly very good.

Our 2 Favorite WDW restaurants are BlueZoo & Flying Fish, which happen to be seafood places. It's kind of weird because DH always says he doesn't like seafood yet these 2 are must dos for us. He also added Fultons to the line up for our next trip :confused3

Either one of these is worth the trip for. I honestly couldn't choose between them.
