DW and I are both allergic to seafood. I was just reading about the changes to the menu, and it really sounds like we may get jipped. From what I understand there is unlimited shrimp in one course, but not unlimited chicken.

Also, is the chicken and shrimp on the same plate? If it is, we can't eat the chicken. We're so allergic that we can't have food we can eat touch seafood.

Chef will most likely come to your table to be sure that he understand your food allergies.Disney is very careful and acommadating to folks with food allergeries. You will have a ton of food so don't worry about getting your money's worth.Hvae a great trip and good meal at O'Hana's. :goodvibes :wizard: Sorry for my lousy spelling

I nearly panicked when I read about the menu changes that are taking place Sept 14th. We'll be there 9/21. I booked 'Ohannas specifically because my D-I-L loves shrimp and my son loves pineapple. However he is allergic to coconut and I understand both the pineapple bread and now the new dessert both have coconut in them. I just called WDW dining and the nice CM put his allergies on our ADR. She also gave me the number to call at 'Ohannas to talk to a chef, to make sure they didn't use any coconut oil to prepare his food and to request an alternate dessert. However when I called it, I got a recording telling me I could leave a message, but that most dietary requests can be handled at check in. The number is: 407-824-3628.

Thanks for the quick replies. However, after looking at the new menu, it appears we will be cancelling our ADR for Ohanas. I am presuming that the honey lime salad dressing is the only one they have. I will not like that. I also don't care for the wonton chips and dip (mostly the dips) or the desert.

I'm allergic to shrimp but only if I actually eat it and my DH doesn't like seafood. We're eating at Ohana in Nov but I think there'll be plenty to eat without shrimp. My goal is to eat a good meal, not stuff myself. Also, from the menu info I saw, chicken and shrimp are unlimited.

Be sure to tell your server about your allergies. I am also allergic to seafood so when they brought over the skewers of meat I was not able to eat any of it as these skewers have on skewer of each meat so they all touch. I am so allergic I was afraid to eat anything as I also forgot my Epipen in my handbag in the room. The waiter was very nice and charge me for a childs meal as I could only have a drink some of the chix wings, salad and some of the pineapple desert. They offered to bring me some of the meat separately but as they cook it and put back to stay warm I was nervous of the touching thing. I bet they were too as I have had to have ambulances come to restaurants when they tell me No seafood and then my throat starts to close because there is seafood touching.

(THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN DISNEY)

have a great trip :wizard:
