Hey everyone, I'm having my wedding next friday the first at SBP. There's a possibility of rain but I was wondering the way SBP is structured will we have to move to our back up plan regardless of how it's raining? Will they let us do the wedding at sbp if it's raining at all? Being under the structure should keep everyone dry. Any info would help

If it rains they will move you.

Our wedding was at SBP as well and the day threatened rain. About 2 hours before the ceremony my coordinator informed me she was looking for alternate locations. I asked that she not look too hard!;) We ended up getting lucky and the rain held off until about an hour after our ceremony.

We also had a very small wedding party...just DH and me so there was little to have to set up, etc.

Talk to your coordinator, they may be able to give you a more definite idea of where your alternate locations might be since you are so close to your wedding.

LIGrumpyGirl's ceremony was moved from SBP to The Attic at the Boardwalk and it was lovely! But that could depend on how many people you have attending.

And even if it rains, remember, rain on your wedding day is good luck!!;)

:goodvibes This just made me all fuzzy inside! I'm getting married at SBP too, and now I'm not going to worry about rain at all...it would be a good thing! :lovestruc

I'm at SBP too.. On Monday the 4th. I'm a day or two shy of being able to stalk the 10 day forcast like my cat apex stalks the fuzz on the carpet.

Okay, my jokes just aren't funny anymore.

Anyhow, I know the whole rain is good luck thing... but I don't want to end up in some icky looking conference room type place. Hope the weather holds out! :thumbsup2

Aside from the Attic (which I know won't be an option the day of my wedding- ahem, Carrie   :cutie: ) what are some other back up locations that have been used??

You can start now on Accuweather, they have 15 day forecasts(it drove me nuts for both Thanksgiving and MLK weekend, as it changes frequently). DH and I like to compare Accuweather and Weather.com as they were 180 from each other until about 3 days out(one cold/sunny vs warmer/rain).

I asked about other locations if it rained. The Attic wasn't mentioned which would be a nice alternative. I was told a ballroom in Boardwalk.

OMG - I am terrified it's going to rain and we'll have to move to our backup, American Adventure Parlor. No flames, please, but I think the place looks like a tired old country club inside, and the whole reason we are flying 3,000 miles across the U.S. to get married is MOROCCO!

Ahem... sorry... sore subject.

Wendy, your ceremony starts 30 minutes after my reception ends, right? Surely that's enough time for them to spruce the Attic up and move you guys in there! We'll leave you some cake! :rotfl: :

I'm all over it like the cat on fuzz!

I agree, the Attic would be amazing. Ahem.

ballroom :snooty: I'm afraid that it will be just so plain and boring. It's not like I even have any floral that could be moved over to spruce it up! Well, the weather was the one thing that I haven't worried about yet. Perhaps I'll contiue to bury my head in the sand with respect to this issue!

Oh Shnikes! We should have coordinated cake flavors!! I'll will be researching weather rituals to ensure we have a good day. There may be sacrafices involved... i don't know yet... wikipedia, here I come!

wow girls. i was told that my back up location would have been the st. james room in the bw convention center. ew with a captial E. thank god it didn't rain, at least not until later on that night! wow. i didn't even remember that it rained that night until i just wrote that, i must have had a great day! it was threatening to rain in the early early morning as i was getting ready, but it held off!

hey now!
That's our location...
But you're right, that's not our first location pick either. Unfortunately between 20 to 50 people there are not a lot of options... :confused3

Anyways back to the OP's question... the location we're given as alternate is the boardwalk conference room. It didn't specify which one tho.
