Hi all :) ,

Please help me with some info re Seabreeze Point as i need to get a bit more clued up about this location.

Have done a complete U turn from dreaming of having our wedding at WP & have now decided that SBP is now a more fitting location for us after watching some vids & pics taken at this location.

I would just really like some q's answered so if someone can help me id greatly appreciate it :goodvibes

1) With beach pics do you HAVE to use the beach by sbp or can you have them taken at the beach at GF or Poly?? If you can use GF's beach will the horse Landua carriage still be waiting for us to use to get there or would we have to find another way of getting there?

2) Does anyone know of where the backup location would be say if it was to rain on wedding day :sad1: . If so has anyone had to use this & can show me some pics??

3)Im planning on having the Horse Landua take me to the ceremony, how close will this be able to take me to this location? * Plus after ceremony/reception will this still be waiting for us* to take us to lunch reception at gf or beach pics at diff location?

*(sorry if this sounds like a silly q, because i had planned everything to fit WP i knew that after ceremony the carriage would take us to GF for reception so am just not sure on how everything works at a different location;) )

4)If you can only use SBP's beach is this a private beach or can public use it?

Slightly unrelated q sorry but does anyone know what happens if its raining on morning of mk shoot??? Just something that has enetred in to my head & is worrying me slightly.:scared:

We re getting married start of next May so am hoping weathers lovely in Orlando in May & that it does nt tend to rain to much....fingers crossed :goodvibes

Thanks guys, everyones always so so much help....dont know what id do without you all :cutie:

I would love to hear the answers to all these as well. I know the back up location as I've already signed the contract but the papers are at home... :sad2:

I do know that as a Florida girl born and raised (and this is not to frighten you) that May is the start of our rainy season... the good news is that the mornings (for your Mk shoot) are the coolest (and by cool I don't mean 40 degrees, more like high seventies to mid eighties) as well as the driest. It usually doesn't start raining (if at all) until afternoon. This is just to inform, not to worry. These are just my experiences... I know alot of brides who have gotten married in May on here and they will probably be more than happy to tell you how their day went! :cutie:

Hi. We were thinking of having our wedding at SBP, so I asked our planner some of these questions awhile back. I can't answer all of them, but I can answer some!!

2) Does anyone know of where the backup location would be say if it was to rain on wedding day . If so has anyone had to use this & can show me some pics??

It would be in the Convention Center at the Boardwalk. DF and I peeked inside the Convention Center... and it looks like a convention center. The hallway was pretty though, but the rooms were nothing spectacular.

4)If you can only use SBP's beach is this a private beach or can public use it? The beach isn't really that close to the SBP, you have to walk over a bridge, then the beach is off to the left in front of the Beach Club. It shouldn't be more than a 5 minute walk, but it's a walk nonetheless.

We decided not to use SBP because we were coming back to our hotel (the boardwalk) and one of the typical Florida thundershowers popped up, with the wind blowing. We were right by SBP, so we stopped in there to wait it out since we didn't have our umbrellas. At first, it was fine and we didn't get wet. We got to watch the boats go by and thought "this wouldn't be bad if it rained." But then the wind picked up. Even though we hid in the middle, we got pretty wet anyway.

Oh, and I am sooooo worried about rain on the MK photoshoot. During my early planning stages, I worried about the rain for everything. My planner said that if your MK shoot gets cancelled because of inclement weather, you can reschedule it. You can reschedule it for up to a year after your wedding actually takes place. She said that you can even come back later on in the year and get it done. That doesn't sound too great to me, but I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed.

Hope this helps you a little!

Thanks for your help with my many q's ;) . Can i ask what time of year was you out there when the heavens decided to open & which location you ve now decided to go for instead.

The thought of rain is the only thing that is putting me off slightly, i would be devastated (like i think any bride would) having to have our wedding in a convention centre. Its such a gamble i guess, if you get the right weather then i think SBP would look amazing but its really a case of "if" :scared: :headache:

Hey no problem. I'm just glad I was able to help :goodvibes

So, our rainstorm was in September 07, so hopefully May would be better. Lyn5700 sounds positive about it, and she has experience there at that time. Plus, it was also the stereotypical Florida afternoon thunderstorm, so if you schedule your wedding in the am, maybe it would be better??

We decided to go with the WP instead. The rain factor was a big thing with us, especially since we're getting married in October, which is still hurricane season down there. The weather channel homepage has averages for temperature and precipitation averages for each month for every city, so you can base your decision on that.

Definitely let me know what you decide. :goodvibes

Hiya,

For what it is worth i went to Florida for a 2 week holiday in May 2006 (6th - 20th) and within that time i would say it rained on 3 occasions... once was in the evening after Wishes had ended so around 10pm... there was a lightning storm throughout wishes so i am yet to see tink perform (hoping for that this year but going at the end of the hurricane season so who knows :confused3 ) but at 10pm who cares if it rains?
The next occasion was around 10am whilst at Universal (we all bought ponchos) but it didnt last too long and the 3rd occasion was again in the morning whilst we were at Busch Gardens.... we got pelted with rain whilst we rode the Shiekra (it actually hurt my face lol) and after us getting of the ride, they closed the ride down... it did rain for a couple of hours but im pretty sure that was towards the end of our hols.

Im hoping to get married on May 26th and have never been to Florida that late in May so i am hoping as you are that there will be no rain but we have chosen the WP for ceremony as i need the air-conditioned venue lol

HTH's?

To be honest, when Lynn and I were down their for our weddings, May 5 and May 7 just a few weeks ago, several people told me that there typically isn't a lot of rain the first week of May. BUT that so far this year they really hadn't been getting much rain at all and they were hoping for rain.

When I got back, the fires in Central Florida were all over the news. SO due to global warming, it may be hard to predict how the whether will be next May or any month for that matter.

We were married May 2 at SBP. To try and answer some of your questions:

We had pics taken on the beach at the Beach Club. This is a public beach. Since we had an escape wedding, we paid extra for the extra time to do the beach pics (cost for 1 hr Disney photography: $175).

I suppose the GF beach would be possible, but I don't see how the landau coach would get you there--definitely check w/ your planner on this.

We were there from April 30 - May 5 and the weather was GORGEOUS! Warm, sunny, lower humidity, cool in the evenings. You couldn't ask for better weather.

Hope this info helps!

The closest beach to SBP is the one at the Beach Club. I think pixie2416's answer kind of answers that for you.

I'm pretty sure the Landau coach would not take you from the Boardwalk area to the GF/Poly area. It's just too far.

2) Does anyone know of where the backup location would be say if it was to rain on wedding day :sad1: . If so has anyone had to use this & can show me some pics??

LIGrumpyGirl got rained out at SBP and the alternate for her was The Attic. If I remember correctly there really isn't a "set" location for rain. It depends on the number of guests you have and what is available.

If you are at SBP, I'm pretty sure the landau would take you from the Boardwalk "entrance" (back side of the lobby) right to SBP. But, as I mentioned, I'm pretty sure you would have to find alternate transportation to take you from SBP/Boardwalk to GF/Poly.

SBP is a gorgeous location! While some of the things you had planned may need to be worked out again (especially with the Landau) I think you will still be very happy with your choice!
