I searched on here and didnt find any threads about this so here ya go.

It should be noted that this was SeaWorld Orlando's last polar bear. There are still other polar bears living at other SeaWorld parks.

And the polar bear outlived the average lifespan of Polar bears in the wild.

Polar bears live between 15-18 years in the wild, according to Polar Bears International,

The polar bear at SeaWorld was 24.

Is there any word on the status of the polar bear exhibit. Are there any other animals taking the bear's place? If not are the windows blocked off or open?

I know there used to be arctic foxes at Wild Arctic. I've heard they were kept off exhibit in recent years. Cold they take the bear's place?

I know that when SW San Diego sent their polar bears to another facility for a temporary breeding load, they were replaced with seals so the display wasn't empty.

I hope SW Orlando does something similar to these ideas in the short term, and I hope they can eventually have polar bears again. They are majestic to see up close in person.

So sad! Hopefully they'll be able to get another polar bear (or two!) in Orlando soon. I thoroughly enjoyed the times when we could spot the polar bear awake and walking around.

Hopefully in the meantime they'll put other animals in the polar bears place, I don't see why they wouldn't. Weren't there sea otters in the first section where the beluga whales are now in 2006 or so? I remember something very small and very splashy (camcorder was very close to being unexpectedly soaked!) there years ago.
