We will be staying in Orlando for 2 days before going on a Disney Cruise in May. We were thinking of going to Universal for the two days but now are considering Sea World. We have been to Universal but not Sea World. Looking for opinions on doing Sea World with a 4 year old and two 11 year olds for two days.

Hi Tina, I wanted to provide you with a response and bump your thread back up. Sea World is absolutely great for 4-year olds! In addition to the regular animal exhibits, the shows are great for all ages. There are rides specifically for little ones in the Shamu's Happy Harbor area. If you haven't done so already, check out the web site and other threads here. There was s recent one called "help me plan my Sea World day" that has more specific information.

Thank you for the reply. I think we are leaning towards 1 day at Sea World and 1 day at Bush Gardens.

We did 2 full days at SeaWorld last year with our daughter who had just turned 3 and our 9 1/2 year old son. It was both of their favorite vacations (the 9 year old has been a lot of places) and they are still asking almost a year later when we can go back. I say they are at a great age for it! The one thing we did do that might benefit you too is that part of the afternoon, my husband and I split up and he took our son to ride the roller coasters, and I took my daughter into the theater with the acrobatic show for a nap on my lap. Have a great trip!

My niece was 3.5 when we did SeaWorld (in addition to US/IOA and Busch Gardens). SeaWorld was her favorite park!

I would do SeaWorld over Universal with a 4 year old any day! There is so much more for the little one to do and be involved in. All those shows, and interactions and if you wanted something extra for the older kids maybe a behind the scenes tour/interaction would be a bonus, plus they have the coasters if they like them.

Thank you everyone for your responses. None of us has been to Sea World or Busch Gardens so really looking forward to it. We will be splitting our group I am sure because 2 of the kids are 11. I'm sure they aren't going to want to stay in the kiddy sections and the 4 year old will get tired of hearing he is too young to do anything.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how many things at SW are perfect for the WHOLE family, and that the need to split up will be minimal.

The shows will be enjoyed by all ages. The animal feedings are something everyone can do (and will want to do! so fun!). When the thrill seekers want to ride Manta or Journey to Atlantis, you and the littler one can check out the aquariums that are right at these two attractions (they are awesome!!!). Even Shamu's Happy Harbor, the children's section, has a coaster that the whole family can enjoy together, and other rides that are multi-generationally-friendly (yep, even our grown-up family enjoys a round or two on the Sea Carousel). Even their carnival-style games are geared for all ages.....some that are a little harder and that you need to show some skill to win, and others that are a prize every time.

Have a great visit and enjoy yourselves! SeaWorld is an incredibly fun park!
