We (me, DH, DD11, & DS9) are going to be at Sea World for one day. We have never been before and we want to see as many shows as possible. We are not interested in the rides. Do we have enough time to do one of the tours? Which one would you recommend? Or do you think just wandering around the park is enough to take in for first timers? I'm sure my kids will also want to feed some of the animals. Is there a tour that we just shouldn't miss? Thanks!

Several years ago, my family took a behind the scenes tour. It was our first visit (day trip only) and well worth it. Our tour guide took us all over the park, as well as behind the scene where we saw nursing dolphin, manatee care etc. He asked all sorts of questions...Do you know stuff??? that my kids could answer from watching animal shows. He gave out lots of pencils and bookmarks and freebies to them. Our tour ended with a private viewing of orcas. The tour was very educational and fun. Our group was small 12-15 folks. It took a couple hours. Afterward, we spent more time at the attractions that really interested us.

All of the tours are just an hour long unless you do one of the private tours. We just got back from sea world and did the animal spotlight tour. It says you get to feed dolphins, moray eels, and sea turtles. After we were done we didn't feel like it was worth the money. It was fun getting to feed and pet the dolphins but feeding the sea turtles consisted of throwing a tiny bit of lettuce over the exhibits edge and feeding the eels consisted of dropping little squid down a tube. It was our first time at sea world and we thought the tour was interesting but not worth the money.

We just got back and took the Animal Spotlight tour..very informative, lots of close up dolphin time. I'd recommend it. Our DGS also did the Dolphin Encounter..he loved it. You have to be 10 to get in the water. He's 7 and wants to go back when he's 10 to do it again. I'd recommend both.
