Sea World tickets?

Does anyone have good tips for getting discount tix for Sea World in san diego? I have heard some places have buy 1, get 2 type deals but I have only been able to find them for FL. I'd appreciate any advice on reputable places to get tickets. JJ

Sea World's big promotion right now is buy 1 day get another day free. I don't think you can find 'cheap' tickets for them hardly anywhere, just this one promotion.

We bought the 2fer pass, 14 days unlimited access to Sea World and Universal for $99. I thought that was the best deal.

They have coupons on the placemat and in the store for $10 off admission and get 2nd day free. If you are interested, pm me as I picked up an extra one today. It also has a code to enter if you buy online but I don't know if that's kosher to post.

If you have AAA there is s great discount. Buy adult tickets at the kids price and kids are half off.

Do you need to go through AAA to get the discount? Or can you get that deal at the gates?

If you belong to Southwest Rapid Rewards you can get 20% off a one-day ticket.

For my son and I, since my brother lives in San Diego and we visited him twice this year, we got the "buy one day get the rest of the year" fun pass. Actually we got them in December, and got the rest of '07 plus all but 4 days of '08. Incredible deal.

Before that we got the "buy 1 day get another day free" deal. Not a discount, but since we were in SD with my brother anyway, it was fun to go again (to see the Pets Rule show).

I saw the ad in their Westway magazine. If you check out their website click on Entertainment discounts from the discount dropdown menu and scroll down to find the Sea World link.

You have to show your card at the window to get the discount--Adults pay kids' price, kids 3-9 are half price. This from AAA website.

Does anyone know if the SW Rapid Rewards discount works on any of their tickets? For example, can we get the 20% off the offer Sea World is now running for the Fun Pass (buy one, get the rest of the year)? Or whether the AAA deal works on that? The Fun Pass offer is what Sea World is offering on their site now, so I don't know if that counts as "double dipping" in terms of discounts. Not to be greedy, but just trying to figure out my best options...

Hubby was only able to use the RR discount on his one one-day ticket. That's all we needed, so he didn't try for more.

Oh, and wait...he didn't get that 20%. I've just remembered. It was Memorial Day weekend (Saturday), and the SW website that morning indicated a much lowered discount (probably b/c of the holiday).

So they used my brother's "passport" discount for the ticket, which was 20% I think.

We debated a long time about using the RR discount (before we knew it was going to be a bad one for our time-frame) or getting him a Fun Pass. My son and I have fun passes, b/c we visit my brother more often than my husband does. Hubby has used up most of his flex time (sick and holiday are combined for him) and couldn't figure out when he'd get down there before the Fun Pass ran out, so he just got the single day.

But for my son and I it has been worth it, b/c it was one day's cost, and it got us in twice in December (they started the promo last fall, when it was one day cost and you got the rest of '07 and all but 4 days of '08) and once in May. Well worth it.

But if you only NEED one day, might as well go with whatever gets you the lowest cost!
