Sea World Questions

I'm taking the family to Disney in January and I was hoping to spend at least half a day at Sea World. I have looked at their website but I'm still confused. I am wondering which shows and attractions are free with admission and which are extras. Also can this park be done in half a day if we aren't interested in rides? What will we see if we just do a morning walk through of the park? Finally, how far is the park from Disney's wilderness lodge, which is where we are staying.

Thanks!

All the shows are included with admission. The only things you pay extra for are the feeding areas...you can feed dolphins and rays (and maybe sea lions, but I'm not sure about that. We didn't do that in FL -- I know you can in CA), but you have to pay for the food.

You can probably do SeaWorld in half a day. For our next trip, we are not planning a full day. We want to see the sea lion show, Shamu and the new dolphin show, which wasn't open when we were there in April. We are also planning to feed the dolphins and walk through the penguin and shark areas. We figure if we get there at opening, 9 am, we will be done by around 1 or 2.

I'm not sure how long it will take from WL...we stayed at Boardwalk last time, and if I didn't get lost, I think it would have taken 15-20 minutes to get there.

Have fun!

If you're going to do all the rides and shows, I'd suggest a full day visit. I went for four hours yesterday and five hours today, but I did do a few things twice. The thing with SeaWorld more than other parks is that most of the attractions are shows with limited times of availibility, even when feeding the dolphins, stingrays, and sharks. Like someone already said, everything is included in the price of admission except the food to feed the animals.

If you rent a car, it's easy. The drive from Disney to SWF is about 15 minutes. You can follow my page which shows how to get to IOA, but SWF is half way there.

Visiting SWF for a few hours in the morning, then going to back to your Disney hotel would be the best bet. You'll be able to see a few shows one morning, and then you could come back again. I'd say 2 visits would be your best bet. You could come one time in the morning, then at night to see the last Shamu show which is different from the day time.

That's why I tell everyone to rent the car. That way, you can visit one park in the morning, go back to your hotel to rest, then visit another park at night.

We spent 3 days at Sea World in Sept. with our 3 year old grandson. We were there for about 5 hours each day. There were hardly any lines. We saw the Shamu show all 3 days-- grandson's request-- and it was different each time! We saw the dolphin show twice--it was great! We found new things each day. There is a terrific play place for children to climb and play behind Shamu stadium. The food at the Anheuser-Bush Hospitality Center near the Clydsdales was excellent. They also give you a free beer there. The two big rides--Kraken and Journey to Atlantis-- were lots of fun. I grew to like Sea World more each day. My grandson loved it. You can easily spend a whole day there.

We just got back from Florida on Sunday, visited Sea World on Thurs., Nov. 10th. It was our first time there--what a great place!!

I would definitely recommend that you take either one entire day or two half-days to be able to see and enjoy everything, even if you do not go on the rides...The way they schedule the shows, you cannot see even the three "main" ones all in the morning or all in the afternoon.

With the one-day admission ticket (the least expensive one), you get a free second day pass, so you could go for a half-day on two different days without paying twice.

One activity I would recommend is feeding the dolphins. It costs five dollars for a tray of three fish, but it is well worth it, IMO. The dolphins swim right up to you if you have food and you can touch them. My DD loved that!

We hadn't been there in YEARS. We arrived at opening, and left 12 hours later. We say almost every show, visited (& fed) all animals, had lunch & dinner, and went on a ride (no Kraken for me!).

If you want to see everything, one full day or 2 half days will do it.

All the shows and attractions within SeaWorld are free with admission. If you're not interested in the rides (which, by the way, are GREAT), you can probably get done in a day. WHen you get your map upon entry, definitely plan ahead of time where you want to go (showtimes, when to have lunch, etc).

I wouldn't skip the Shamu Adventure, the seal show and they also have a dolphin show.

For anyone interested you can get a bus there from TTC. :Pinkbounc

if ur gonna do half a day id suggest doin the afternoon so u can see the nightime shamu. plus into the afternoon ppl seem more into goin on rides so the shows will be less full b xx x

when we went in june of last year we got there about 8:30 for parking and parked right up front were the first in line to buy tickets.. they let us buy them right away.. we did all the shows and all the rides, attractions everything and even ate lunch and we were done about 4:30ish and we loved it
