Going to WDW OCT 06 with my then 5 1/2 yo boy. He loves animals and i want to stay at the AKL. Hoping to get an AP code for it next year. We are going to stay for 7 days and plan on going to sea world on 1 of those days. Is Oct a good time for Sea World and how far is it from AKL? Any other info would be great.

I found out from these boards that a one-day admission is actually good for a second visit within 7 days of the first visit. You just have to visit the guest services booth on your first day before you leave the park and they will give you a ticket for the second day. We had a rental car and SW is on the way to WDW. (It's probably a 15 minute drive from AKL) So, we stopped at SW for a few hours on our arrival day on the way to WDW. It allowed us to get a copy of the schedule for the shows and get at least one of the shows (Shamu) out of the way. We then returned to SW three days later for an afternoon. Because we already had the schedule, we were able to plan our afternoon in advance taking into account the probable show schedule for the day. (SW doesn't make it easy for you to catch the shows one after another. It's their method of trying to keep you in the park as long as possible.)

Any day that doesn't involve a peak time frame is a good day to visit SW. That time of Oct should be fine, as long as there aren't any hurricanes around. Parking is $8. Drive time, you're probably looking at 20-30 min, depending on the I4 traffic and how fast you drive.

I'm not sure how often you come down, or plan to come down, but SW has multiple APs to choose from, too. I have the Gold. Prices have gone up a little (it's now $144 for an adult), but it gives me free parking, free access on ANY day to SW as often as I'd like over the next 2 yrs and 10% discounts on merchandise and food at all of the restaurants. They also have what they call E-Z pay. You pay something like $6.09/mo on a credit card stretched out over the 24 mos. Passes are much easier to pay for that way then having to chunk out $300 or $400 like Disney makes you do. So.....since passes are something like $55/day, if you will be visiting SW at least 3 times over the next 2 yrs, you'll have made up the money on your pass. You can get more info on the passes on SW's website (seaworld.com). :)

We are staying at AKL for 3 nights next week and planning on just visiting Sea World and maybe Animal Kingdom on our last day. :cool1: We are taking advantage of WDW free Magical express shuttle and then just renting a car for one day for Sea World. They have a rental place on site at WDW with free shuttle. $25 for the day...Not bad! :goodvibes

We got a friend that works for A/B and she gave us free tickets too SW! :teeth: That makes it nice.

We went to Sea World last October and we loved it so much!! It was not too busy at all. There were people there, but we managed to do and see everything we wanted. Not to Hot either! Just right.

I just love Sea World...So this trip I am taking Mom along with DD and I. Plus I wanted to stay somewhere different and fun and so that is why I picked AKL. Got a great Savanah view rate. We leave next Tuesday!! :cool1:

I just wish the Dolphin show was open...It premiers on Sat,but we will be gone. :sad2:

Just a short trip! :flower:

Also, you might be a bit early, but sometimes they do a really fun Halloween special thing for a couple of weeks before the actual date. One of our best trips there was when we stumbled onto this and my two youngest had a ball with all the special activities. They were even giving away really nice Little Tykes toys. My 6yo still plays with the drum he got there.

We've never been there at just the right time again.

Apparently, there has been a change and the second visit within 7 days of the first visit is only available if you purchase ticket that isn't discounted.
